Ours learned very quickly that the food was yummier and easier to catch inside, plus it doesn't rain, snow, or have lightning inside.

We refuse to let them out because of that habit of killing things just for fun. They have plenty of toys and things to climb/chase/play with inside (including the dog LOL) to keep them entertained, plus at the new house (if we get it) we are going to make one of the rooms entirely devoted to the cats, with a cat tree, most of the toys (until MIA carries them out and gives them to Chaos), and whatever else we happen to find that we like. And it will be a dog free-zone for the happiness and comfort of 3 of the 4 ... and the safety of the 4th (MIA just doesn't quite grasp the "she's 10x my size and could eat me" factor).

That sounds wonderful (like a kitty heaven really). I don't know why Mononoke won't stay in the house, but even in the winter she won't stay in. She will hide near the door when she knows someone is leaving or when she hears the garage door open. Oh well, she always comes back. She is such a common site around here and she just loves people so everyone knows her and loves her (she made a special appearence at my mom's block party and everyone started running back to their houses to get pictures they had taken of her, that was interesting)

In December, my cat Midge went missing for almost the whole month and I was worried sick. She finally came back...pregnant.

SweetDommes -> RE: My baby is missing (6/20/2005 11:38:14 AM)

well, as all of our cats are now neutered (the youngest kitten has been for about a month) that is not a worry of ours. I am very very happy to have him home, and I think he's happy too, but he doesn't want to admit it (which means that he keeps jumping in my lap to snuggle, but he won't stay for very long LOL)

I'm so glad the cat came back, they usually do. Ours are trained to come when you bang a fork on the can of catfood (like being trained to cum at Master's command, sorry couldn't resist), we've done that since they were babies and they can hear it from miles away i think. They are outside except at night.

Now...maybe I am not awake enough this morning, but I thought asissyforher's comment was indeed expressing sympathy and not at all deserving of a slapdown.

Oh yikes! I read that all backwards. Now I owe asissyforher an apology. I honestly read:

call me cold but i worry more about a human than i do critters.

Instead of what he actually wrote which was

call me cold but i worry more about critters than i do a human.

Ok - no more posting before I have coffee in the morning! Promise! And my sincerest apologies asissyforher.

Ok, so I have to share, but I didn't want to start a whole new thread ...

Holly has wanted another dog for awhile, and she decided that this one should bond with me. So we've been looking at breeds that suit me. We were going to get a big lazy dog (Great Dane) then Holly suddenly decided that I didn't need a big lazy dog, I need a little affectionate piece of fluff.

We went to look at a puppy today, and of course, we brought him home ... His name is Ray (short for "General Disarray" to go with our Chaos and Mayhem theme), and he's a little shih tzu and he's ADORABLE. Unfortunately, he really doesn't like Chaos, so he squalls when she touches him, so that gets her worked up and she bounces, so he squalls some more so she nips at him (it's apparently a terrier thing ... blah).

Sweet!! Do we get a picture please?

SweetDommes -> RE: My baby is missing (6/23/2005 10:33:24 PM)

As soon as I get some taken and up on my puter. [:D]

Right now he's locked in a crate because he tried to bite our big dog's nose when she was sniffing him. [8|]
