I messaged a likely looking boy who isn't all too far away (few hours drive, not that big of a deal), thinking that if he shared the interest, that I'd ask him a few of our 'get to know you' question ... he did reply, showing some interest, and suddenly, my mind went completely blank.  I mean, I know what I want to ask him, but as I'm trying to type it out in some coherent fashion - it doesn't make any sense to me.  I've been up a little longer than normal tonight, but not that much, so I wouldn't think that it's because I'm tired ... but dang, I feel kinda silly right now LOL

No problem - I figured that someone should get some amusement out of my brain-cramp

Well, did you land him, still reeling him in or did shake him off the hook with the brain cramp?

I'm sure if he has potential he will completely understand that you are really just as human as him and our minds go blank, we get silly, we get sad, all sorts of supposedly "undommly" things.

Plus I find talking to someone on a computer to be very difficult. I'm a body language, tone of voice sort of person; the words on computer thing actually adds to my normal suspicion level.

You are not the only person that’s happened to. It’s been happening to me a lot of late. I just sit there going you wrote me something so nicely stated and now I have no clue how to respond back. Glad I’m not alone in this.

these brain fart moments happen to all of us but the whole shut down in chat... it seems to happen often

I don't care for chat. Chat seems to place pressure on the conversation... instant gratification, quick replies... we read faster than we type & often when we don't fire back a reply quick enough for the reader they tend to think that you're bored with the conversation or your distracted (& often they think you are talking to someone else)

I keep all initial replies strictly in email where well thought out replies can be written. Where the parties involved in the exchange can finish a thought & not get pulled in 20 directions due to the sporadic styled responses that are often found in chat.

this kinda things happen to subs too, like whenever Ma'am asks me what i think... this inevitably happens when i've worried an issue to death and was just about ready to bring it to Her, Her DomSP kicks in and She pontificates on the subject... as She goes over the subject, She bowls over my finely filed down points reiterating them much more coherently than they are in my head... then comes "What do you think?", which i am forced to weakly answer "the same as You, Ma'am"

while this makes me seem like a kiss-ass, it's really just because She had freshly plucked it from my head (that's my story and i'm sticking to it)... and i can never think of Her mind going blank, unless i fall off the floor or onto the floor or step on my knee (the right knee with the right foot), my clumsidexterity kicking in

I'm currently still reeling him in, Passion - we exchanged about 7 or 8 e-mails before we both started dozing off at the computer LOL

It's always nice to know that I'm not the only one that things like this happen to - I mean, I know it anyway ... but it still feels like I'm the only one when it happens to me.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your brain-cramp moments, all.    I'm sure there will be more to come.

No kidding LOL

He seems to be rather sweet, he's not pushy at all, he has been respectful of what I'm not willing to share at this point - and like I said, he wasn't frightened off by my issues last night.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed at this point ... but not holding my breath lol

And then, wouldn't you know it ... we had a 'date' set up to chat on Monday night ... and our internet died completely.

Those things happen all the time, especially when there's bad weather.  I'm sure he'll understand and will be especially relieved to learn that you're still interested in him when he receives a message from you telling him why you couldn't be on-line.

I'm just hoping that my internet connection holds out long enough to chat with him tonight.  It's still acting up.

At least I've managed to send him a message letting him know what's up.

Sorry to hear you're still having problems.  Ironically, Majik called me tonight to tell me that her connection had been cut today when it was run over by a lawn mower (long story behind that)!

Yes it was a pain...I'm addicted to the CM forums and had severe withdrawl knowing my computer was right there and NO connection.

Got this real sense of relief when I seen the lights flash telling me to run over and log on.

Yeah I've gone thru forum withdrawl.  Got so bad at one point that I had to call around to various friends if I could use their computer.........Of course none of them were home/answearing their phones.  Luckily came back on when I started to get the shakes.  **wonders if you can get the DT's?**  lol

This last episode makes twice in the last few weeks that I've had to go without internet connection.  I don't go through withdrawal from the forums though (I miss them, but not that bad) - I start to go through withdrawal from my e-mail and my rpg.

I'm glad that we all have internet back for the moment
