Here's a story on The Huffington Post: "Jack Nicholson Continues French Vacation With Pizza, Sunscreen" http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2007/07/13/jack-nicholson-continues-_n_56189.html And this is based on a story from this site: http://www.tmz.com/2007/07/13/one-flew-into-the-cuckoos-deck/ And I quote: "The 70-year-old tubby legend was snapped fending off a gull while on a boat in the Mediterranean, and ended up sharing his pizza with the aggressive bird. Something's gotta give -- besides his waistline!" ----- Now I don't care about Nicholson per se, but why do they have to be so rude about this guy's physical presence? I mean, when I hit 70 I damn well expect to look exactly as I please and for everyone else to shut the fuck up about it. Mainly I want to know: how exactly is this "progressive news"? And if "The Huffington Post" is no longer progressive news, then what the fuck is it? I guess Arianna started it as a progressive news site and has now just taken the money and run away. Apparently The Huffington Post is now a general news site - and here I thought it was supposed to be mainly "progressive news." Please note that the site is now sort of in the vein of a leech site that merely steals headlines and redirects readers to news available elsewhere via the major news outlets - I'd say that's the bulk of what's there now except for the guest blogger content. And guest blogs are mostly comments on stories from the major news outlets. I sometimes read a site called Alternet. Now get this - Alternet will link to a story that links to The Huffington Post that then links to the major news media outlets. Get it? I have to click through three links from a "progressive news" outlet just to end up at The New York Times, as an example. Gah! Seriously. There is no left. Significant liberal media does not exist in my opinion. It's all just tedious meta conversation about the regular news media outlets.
