Right, and Voltron was the old-fashioned vibe that they had to plug into the wall.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but pollux posted asking for more information about the movie coded Cloverfield. Not about some oversexed woman and what she named her vibrator. I do believe there are other message boards and posts for that.

Trust me, I will indeed correct you when you're wrong. Pollux, unlike you, has a sense of humor, and if he feels slighted by my jokes, I'm sure he'll say so. Okay? Okay.

Discussion of Aileen's "Tokyo" is considered officially on-topic.  Pics of a isht-faced David Hasselhoff worshipping the porcelain Goddess, however, are on the bubble.

Hey, I'm the OP.  I can make that call.

Now, if we can just get some pics of "Tokyo" to post here [;)]

And no more Hassellhoff!

Ack!

aidan -> RE: 1-18-08 (7/14/2007 8:24:33 PM)

No, no, it can't be a Godzilla. J.J. Abrams is good at keeping shit under his hat, but there's no way that Paramount and Bad Robot could cover up the purchase of the Godzilla rights from Toho this well. There would have been SOMETHING before this.

That said...Everything seems to be pointing to some kinda giant monster movie.

Now, here's the interesting part. A few days after Transformers was released (the first apperance of the "1-18-08" trailer), two websites were discovered: http://www.ethanhaaswasright.com/, http://ethanhaaswaswrong.blogspot.com/ and most recently, http://www.ethanhaas.org/, which links to quite a few more.

The connection between whatever the Ethan Haas hullabaloo is and the Cloverfield project is small, but damning: Shortly after the video clips unlocked at "Ethan Haas Was Right" were put on YouTube, they were taken down just as quickly by order of...Paramount. Abrams himself has said there's no connection between the two movies, but many clues (such as the "Slusho" dupe site, which is a reference to Abrams' Alias TV show) and the fact that Paramount doesn't seem to have any other super-duper secret projects going on suggest to me that J.J. is just playing the meta-game too.

So...Something to do with Sanskrit, weird Norse/Greek mythological overtones, and a distinct aftertaste of Lovecraft (some have suggested that this is in fact some kind of Cthulu Mythos based movie)...It all seems pretty groovy to me. I'll be paying attention.

Level -> RE: 1-18-08 (7/14/2007 8:30:12 PM)

Could it be Mothra?

Here's a link to the trailer. http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/11808/medium.html

I heard his budget was 30 million for this project

I heard the same, and that the first portion of filming is already done with. They shot all the exterior scenes in early June which included emergency vehicles, extras running down the streets, scenes of law enforcement running about...

No word on what the main monster is, but they're refered to as "parasites".  The EthanHaaswasright.com is the false site that was spawning the Cthulu rumors, but some say it may still be a possibility- since it does appear when they're on the roof as if the stars are falling from the sky before the explosion occurs.

Those almost seemed more like lava bombs the way they seemingly exploded at the top of their arcs

I had heard that parasyte was one that was used internally for the project development, but all the sources seem to point to this being a brand new monster movie done camcorder style... I know I am looking forward to it

The good people at slashfilms did a search, and the people who own the rights to ethanhaaswasright aren't apart of the Cloverfield project. It was registered quite some time before Cloverfield came along.

Lothlauren -> RE: 1-18-08 (7/14/2007 9:22:39 PM)

I did a quick search for the owner of

1.) ethanhaaswasright.com

what I found was that a Schneckel, John
from washington owned that one

2.) ethanhaaswaswrong.com was registered by a private owner from brea california

3.) ethanhaas.org was registered to a private organization from Scottsdale arizona...

I dont think they are related to the JJ Abhrams project... but sure carry an interesting look and feel.

Lothlauren -> RE: 1-18-08 (7/14/2007 9:40:21 PM)

doing some more searching I found these pics for the cloverfield project
http://wewerethecoolkids.blogspot.com/search/label/1-18-08

Editted for additional information

I have no clue what any of you are talking about.
The only thing I recognized was Godzilla, which, coincidentally
was what I named one of my vibrators.

Right, and Voltron was the old-fashioned vibe that they had to plug into the wall.

Ahhh, so that's the name of mine, didn't even know it had a name, just that it plugs into the wall, no need for batteries....  [;)]

OK, back on track
(wouldn't want to get scolded like some others posting here, lol  [:D]),
uhmmm.....
oh yeah, I saw the remake of Godzilla with Matthew Broderick, good stuff I thought.
I have heard good things about the Transformers movie too.

(I hope that was back on track enough to keep my butt outta trouble, lol)  [;)]

Lothlauren -> RE: 1-18-08 (7/14/2007 10:02:27 PM)

LOL I think so LeMis

The transformers movie rawked... I especially liked barricades slogan on the side "To Enslave and Punish"

I am going to go with the idea of a Rampage movie (The cloverfield project) and one of the reasons I am gonna go with it... remember on the old stand up machine... one of the power up items for liz, george and ralph was a clover.

As for another godzilla movie... bring it, I still rewatch the old black and white version once in a while to watch the big guy get alka seltzered to death

The kids in class LOVED it, even the grown up ones, LOL!

Lothlauren -> RE: 1-18-08 (7/14/2007 10:25:14 PM)

I have heard various reviews of bumblebee but he was by far one of the coolest transformers... and he was 100% bumblebee at heart.. the lil scrapper that he is

mallagrl -> RE: 1-18-08 (7/16/2007 10:18:50 AM)

Paramount is going to reveal the movie's real name at the San Diego Comic Con according to news on slashfilm today.

Who ever had their money on a Rampage movie may be right...

Okay, now *you* have made me more interested in the movie than the trailer ever did. [:D]
