The worlds problems according to Ted Nugent.

sappatoti -> RE: The world according to Ted!! (7/16/2007 6:32:53 PM)

Actually, this is nothing new from him. Different words, maybe, but the same ol' Ted. He must be getting low on cash again...

sweetnurseBBW -> RE: The world according to Ted!! (7/16/2007 6:36:34 PM)

He just found someoone new to rant to. Ted has always had his on views on life. He is a special one, thats for sure.

DrkJourney -> RE: The world according to Ted!! (7/16/2007 6:52:20 PM)

ah Ted!   He now lives around Waco where my parents live.   They say he wrote so many letters to the editor they had to just give him his own column...lol

Waco has basically turned into a place where there are more older people than anything else....and I think they get a kick out of him...I know my parents do

The people there love to argue, and Ted loves poking them with a stick...lol

sappatoti -> RE: The world according to Ted!! (7/16/2007 7:07:38 PM)

I wonder it there's any connection in Teddy's mind between why he chose Waco and what happened there a few years back. Either the hunting's pretty good (I hear he is an excellent bow-n-arrow hunter) or is he trying to make another useless point?

I guess I'm a bit over-tired. Thinking about this leads me to remember a few of his past rantings which, in turn, is bringing about fleeting thoughts of conspiracy theories...

Yikes!

I do think that people like that gravitate to that area, having grown up there, I know that with the majority there, as long as you put religion in front of what you say, they will follow you any where, so someone with a strong personality wouldn't have any problem having a legion of followers....lol

I have a friend that used to work in the drug rehab place there in waco, and she told me back, when we used to hang out back in the 80's that Ted would come there for rehab....I really didn't believe her....but now it kind of makes sense....I figured he just fell for the place for "whatever" reason since he spent time there.   I guess how else would he know about waco enough to want to purchase not one but two houses in and around that area..... I doubt it's for hunting...most of the people I know like east texas for that...lol

guess this is a bs claim by the Nuge

On life as the Nuge: “Clean and sober for 59 years, I am still rocking my brains out and approaching my 6,000th concert. Clean and sober is the real party.”

yes I read that too...and since the dawn of time when I first heard of Ted Nugent, this is what he always preached....that he never did drugs...I guess that's why it was hard for and 80's chick to believe...lol

Guess he doesn't see screwing everything with a pulse is an addiction....lol  wonder how he justifies that in the breaking down of society in his eyes?   He blames hippies for the divorce rate and frequency...er...hippies didn't break up his marriages.....his "hips" did.....LOL

SeeksOnlyOne -> RE: The world according to Ted!! (7/16/2007 9:44:25 PM)

A has-been, who is playing small clubs ( < 300 people capacity ).

( What we like to think of as one step below the "Casino and Corn-Dog Circuit" )

More to the point is, why's Ted Nugent?

OK, I wasnt there for it first time round, and maybe it was one of those things where you had to be there..... but having been pressed to borrow one of his productions a while back, I reckon that wherever I was to have missed it may have been a better place to be. Nice album cover, obviously talented guy, but "no thanks".

meatcleaver -> RE: The world according to Ted!! (7/17/2007 1:32:31 AM)

He's probably just bitter because he hasn't even got to third rate yet. He hasn't got a fraction of the talent of the musicians he criticizes. Maybe he could have got a job cleaning Hendrix's toilet but that is about as near as he comes to the man.

instynctive -> RE: The world according to Ted!! (7/17/2007 2:02:05 AM)

I absolutely LOVE the Nuge!  HAHAHAHA  I'd heard about this article on the radio.. thanks to the OP for posting it.

Yeah, I agree he's got some crazy ideas about what's wrong with the world, but I love the fact that he'll stand up and give his non-PC opinions in this overly PC world.... he's also done more for wildlife conservation and hunting safety and instruction than the rest of the NRA in the last 25 years... matter of fact, if the NRA can ever get rid of Charlton so Uncle Ted can take his place, I'll re-up my membership.

Music-wise, he's always had his own style and not afraid to just be himself... the fact he's far above average as a player doesn't hurt his cause either.  Stranglehold really is an orgasm set to music and it's unfortunate the local radio stations around here seem to think Ted's whole career resulted in just Cat Scratch Fever.  There are so few frontman/guitarists who can do both well at the same time... and IMHO, the Nuge pulls it off quite well. :-)

Thanks for adding music to the list of things you pontificate on out of total ignorance.[8|]

I'm pretty sure that you aren't Uncle Teddy's target demographic.

As a teenager, the guitar work on his early albums was garnering attention from established stars many years his senior.

His career choice at that point would have been to join Roy Buchanan et al. in the 'Most underated' Hall of Obscurity (and sell a few thousand records to guitar geeks) , or to build on his  outrageous stage persona, dumb down his recorded output, and rake in the moolah.

I'll leave it to artsy poseurs to explain why he made the 'wrong' choice....[:D]

I wouldn't call playing to < 300 people in a bar in a strip mall in Clifton Park, NY ( that's NORTH of Albany, btw... ) as exactly raking in the moolah....

I *would* call that barely being able to pay the bills.

I guess it's better than paying him welfare.

You know who was a kid with talent? Derek Trucks... Of course, HE is playing with the Allman Brothers Band now. They're filling 25k seat sheds this summer. Hey, the market really does work!

Alumbrado -> RE: The world according to Ted!! (7/17/2007 6:56:05 AM)

I've heard Derek recycle licks from the 3rd best guitarist in the Allman Brothers (Dickey Betts) for far too many years now.

And how you get <300 out of many million selling records is a feat that I'm sure only you can understand.

Well, people do go to ABB shows for the brand recognition, and do expect a consistent product. The Derek Trucks Band gives him a bit more room to stretch out.

It's not how many units, it's how screwed you were by the deal back in 1977!

He was here 2 weeks ago.

That's the capacity of the clubs he is playing these days. Northern Lights in the strip mall in Clifton Park NY seats less than 300 people AND THAT'S BEING GENEROUS!
