2. Anything much in the form of self praise (confidence is good, confidence is sexy, telling me that by reading your profile you'll make me want to drop to my knees and submit, not so appealing),

It's interesting that this is brought up. This is the one thing that turns me off of most profiles. Submissives who declare that they will "drop to their knees and worship" blah, blah, blah. If they are posting that to the world and will do it for anyone who gives them the time of day, they are an insult to the lifestyle that I honor and respect so much. People who declare that any and all members of a particular gender are worthy or unworthy of a particular treatment simply tells me how small-minded they are.

I love profiles that are thought out. I'll accept a few honest misspellings if the effort has been given to formulate their honest opinion of the lifestyle and what is the ideal that they seek. Thinking skills are important to me. Spelling can be corrected at another time. (I give a little leeway in that regard because some of the lifestyle terminology is literally created for our use only and are not dictionary words.) I'm not perfect, and even with proofreading, I make some mistakes.

The profile I love to see would tell me about a persons real life (like Pavel does), and then show an understanding that a person doesn't have to be "the one" to be a valuable person to interact with. Anything that insinuates immediate sexual interaction won't even get a response. That's not why I'm here. If that's their goal, then they are not right for me anyway.

I think my profile is pretty good, but too short for my taste. It has to be more vague than how I prefer to describe myself. Then again, most of the responses I get tell me that it's too long, so it's a toss up.
