I watch television roughly ten times a year, no matter the need. Realizing I was falling behind on this year's quote, I flipped it on today and was scanning channels. I came to rest on The 700 Club, Pat Robertson's creation. They were showing their version of the news. At one point, they reported, "That the Islamic television network, owned and operated by Al Qaeda, was broadcasting cartoons, to teach kids to be radical," etc ... They then showed a clip taken from Al Jazeera. I'm now officially moving to Europe and shacking up with Meatcleaver. America is doomed.

Well, the debates are on television. That takes care of seven, this year. The 700 Club scored me one more. Two episodes of South Park, and I'm good until New Years.

I happened to stop the scan on my radio, which hunts up oldies stations....... Landed on the Savage Nation............. Doomed is not even the tip of the iceberg---- I really didn't give a fuck one way or another, but now I believe that conservative talk radio should be against the law. The people who champion it should be fed copious amounts of secanol and interred for the rest of their lives in underground holes and shot if attempting utterance or moving about in any fashion.

The only thing I really miss is King of the Hill. There were a couple of other amusing shows a few years ago, before I again dumped TV entirely, but they didn't make up for having to wade through the mass of bad stuff on the air.

As an Independant voter I don't want anything banned. I watch those "Left" "Right" shows like kids would cartoons! I think they're fucking Hilarious! Great entertainment value! "Oh no! Jerry Falwell got "raptured!" "Sen. Vitter "Clintoned" his wife two years ago..." Now that should be a verb; "Clintoned"; to act as a fiend or cad, a common, base person" "Common usage"; "that motherfucker Clintoned my sister." lolol I don't know why Michael Savage bothers liberals, he hates Bush and his policies more than THEY do! Strange bedfellows.

While having no real commentary on talk radio, or the highly intelligent practice of lumping a hundred million people into one group, I would like to say: a) Welcome back FirmhandKY b) I'm highly impressed that someone could even find any liberal talk radio. [;)]

[;)] In reverse order. second point:: There is one successful "liberal" talk show. I was watching one of those panel presentation on CSPAN for one of the annual gatherings of talk radio shows last month, and there was a presentation by one liberal show's host (sorry, name escapes me) who talked at length why he succeeded as a liberal host while Air America and other's of that ilk did not. The bottom line message I got was that he was serious about his issues, had a sense of humor, and didn't immediately and constantly demonize his political opponents, even if he was making fun of them. I was interested in what he had to say, even if I didn't agree with his politics, because he didn't talk down to his audience, and he made an effort to be interesting. First point (welcome back): Well, thank you, but I'm not sure I'm really "back" all that much. I tend to be .... obsessive? ... focused? ... in my attentions. Lately, my work has absorbed a lot of my energy (I'm a consultant who works almost exclusively through word of mouth - in a very limited but highly specialized technical field.), and what remains is often devoted to establishing my relationship with LT, and maintaining my relationships to my children. Over the last few months of my absence, my oldest son has gotten married, is expecting a child, and is scheduled to deploy to Iraq in a couple of more months. Plus, I've been trying to spend quality time with LT to allow her to practice her seduction skills. [:)] Posting detailed replies to some of the ... respected members ... takes up more time than I can really afford right now, as I tend to ... reply to them in force, so to speak. Basically, expect me to be a "hit-and-runner" more than a heavy lifter for a while. [:D][8D] But .. thanks for the welcome. FirmKY

I went back and re-read it, and I appeared (even to myself) to be harsher than I intended.
