Last week I bought the second book from the Marketplace series “The Slave”. Not to mention that at purchase time I did not know they are a series. I read the first two chapters and I can just say fantastic.

Oh man I have never had so deep feeling for an erotic book. Even I am not sure if I can call it erotic story, but it was just fantastic.[sm=book.gif]

Just a question, is any movie have been ever made base on Marketplace series or other Laura Antoniou books?[sm=idea.gif]

Not that I know of, it was an alright series, but kinda fantastical

I have enjoyed the entire series findng her writting to reflect some truths about people, relationships, and life in general.
It's not tough to find a RT event where she is presenting a class or two and selling her books to boot.

As for movies, nope at least last tie I saw her she didn't mention any upcoming film deals.

BTW google up her keynote speach at Southplains Leather Fest from a few years back, it's pricelessly funny.

I think after Story of O, to me it is the best candidate for making movie from.

On of the things that I am constantly looking for and could be handy is a website which lists all BDSM movies. I know there a lot on the web but most of them are mainly full erotic movies without any clear story. I am looking for the list of movies like Secretary, Story of O, Piano Teacher and movies which has kinky material in addition to the strong story line.

I also love reading the "Beauty" trilogy....by Anne Rice, which she wrote it under the name of A.N. Roquelaure....had to cut and paste that one, can't ever remember how to spell the last name...lol

They were my first of this kind to read years ago...I still pull them out and read them sometime

cyber - get the whole series if you can. They are a great read and good for a place to jump into that would be a heck of an intersting place to live. But yes they are fiction.

No, no movie has ever been made. Unless it can be done on a very cheap budget, I doubt it ever will...but you never know! She's written a lot of porn, from what I understand, too.

As far as I know there are five books currently in the series but I haven't spoken to Laurie in about a year so I don't know if she's planning any more.

Considering they are published by a small kink press I'm not surprised at all that no one has thought to bring it to film.

There are a lot of good solid erotica stories out there (mine included I'd say) but because it comes from small kink presses it can be difficult to find even when you learn it exists. to get things more mainstream you are often asked to change things that the author may feel are fundamental -- gender of the characters, ages, positive message or even drug use or language. So the trade of then is artistic integrity or greater potential sells -- neither choice is better or worse but it can feel like the choice you need to make.

There is a sixth book planned called 'The Inheritor' but there is no announced release date.  There's a blurb about it on Laura's website and a hidden excerpt from the book somewhere on the site.

I do hope it is better than number 5. I just found a great deal about the entire getaway from Marketplace slaves situation had a bit too much down time in it -- things I didn't think developed characters or plot as clearly as it could.

But even less than what I was expecting from Antoniou is head and shoulders above most other SM erotica on the market today.

Hmmmm i will have to try to find a way to compile a list for my site. If/when i do i will let the board know.:)

Laura's wife announced that 'The Inheritor' is tentatively scheduled for a winter 07/spring 08 release.

Can anyone tell me the best place to find these books?  I have several BDSM D/s books, I have the Beauty series, and I am always looking to add more.
