subsweetkitty -> how long does this last? (7/20/2007 11:43:59 AM)

I've been collared, made to commit and have scened out a few times with 1 very special D. He's declared us compatible.

This is relationship is fairly new and exciting but also long distance a few weeks every month. In your experience, how long do these types of D/s relationships last?

Your situation?  Usually 4 months to 2 years.

They CAN last for decades, but that's fairly rare like all relationships.

For myself, I cannot have a long distance relationship; friendship, yes, relationship no. I need to actually see and interact with the person as often as we desire.

As far as telling you how long these types of D/s relationships last, it is all up to the two people involved. No one can predict anything in this world.

almost a year with Daddy in a ldr - happy and successful without the "missing my Daddy" anxiety.  rare, yes i already know that because we started off as a friends before moving into our D/s dynamic.

We were LDR seeing each other once a month or once every two months on average for two years. More often in good weather, less when snow was predicted. Then he moved up here and we've been together now another two years.

Thanks to all you who responded. Looks like it can go either way depending on the personalities involved.. I just hope boredom doesnt win out either one of us.

i dont think it would work for me and it must be pretty difficult at times but i think it can work out just fine,i have friends who have been having a LDR r/ship for over 5 yrs now unfortunately they only get to visit each other a few weeks a year, and i have never seen a more ''happy couple''
i also have other friends who were online for 3 yrs before finally meeting up one was from uk and the other the usa they are now both together 24/7 and very happily married, doesnt matter where you are or how your r/ship works if its meant to be then it will be :)
all the best :) and congrats on your collaring, you must be very happy.

OMG, Michael!  Say it isn't sooooooo...   PLEASE do not burst my bubble and become one of those Doms who can't beat, torture, or otherwise sadistically treat the girl you love.

Say it isn't so!

I have know Master for over 5 years, collared 3, moved to be closer to him  a month ago. LDR can last if you work at it, just like every other relationship.

If I could predict the winning lotto numbers I would also be able to predict how long a LDR could/would/should last.

My advice would be to enjoy it, live it and love it as much as you can and see where it goes.

Do you plan on making it less long-distance?

MasterDennyslave -> RE: how long does this last? (7/22/2007 7:24:18 AM)

Dont question how long it will last. Savor the time you have together. With the law of averages, anything can and will happen in a r/ship. Doesnt matter whether it is a D/s r/ship, or a vanilla one. If we knew what was in store for us, life would be very boring indeed. And very worrisome.

I suppose anything can happen as many here have said. I wound up in the area by chance too (well, a job really). So it could also happen that I'd wind up elsewhere-farther or closer making it "less long distance". He has told me during particularly
long hitches away He'd send for me.

Between the 30 plus messages I get on my phone, calls, emails the time away really goes by fast. I see Him next Friday.. yay.

Yeah but those wear down over time- or on holidays, or family affairs, or when you get sick, or when there's a crisis, or birthdays, or annuversaries...it's a rough road to choose.

ownedgirlie -> RE: how long does this last? (7/22/2007 10:41:34 AM)

Master and I are two hours apart and we've been going for 3 years with no sign of an end in sight.  It takes a lot of work, a lot of patience, and occasional frustration, but I believe a relationship's strength is not predicated on how many miles are between them.  It is determined by those within the relationship and what they do with it.

Best of luck to you. :)

We met online in 2000, I was in CA she was in PA. met each other within one month of meeting online. Yes we played on the first meeting. I made numerous trips here to PA she made one to CA.
I moved here in 2001, we married in 2003.
