popeye1250 -> Another Bush Lie. (7/22/2007 12:34:01 PM)

On friday Bush said that we have a "labor shortage" in this country.
He just won't give up trying to give Big Business a "freebee" with cheap illegal slave labor it seems.
Correct me if I'm wrong but when I studied Economics in college the one major sign macronomically that there is a labor shortage is *rising labor costs!*
Where are the *increasing labor costs?*
I mean *WHERE* are they? Specifically? In which area?
Bush is as *FULL OF SHIT AS A CHRISTMAS TURKEY!!!*

And that means that the rising labor costs are *in excess* of inflation. *That* is a true "Labor shortage."
We haven't seen that anywhere in the country in years!
Any "Labor Shortages" in your part of the country?
In Calif they could send all the "hi-tech" H1B workers home tommorow morning and replace every one of them with laid-off American hi-tech workers.

Hear - hear Popeye.

That is so true. The middle class and working classes are getting their asses kicked ,by the flood of cheap labor.I believe the government wants things like they are.Any talk about strengthening borders is BS,and lip service(not the good kind  ; )

True , this is a bone for cooperate interests and the US Chamber of Commerce, from bush and co.Bush and the republican leadership(Tom DeLay,Newt Gingrich,Denny Hastert,David Bonior,Trent Lott,Bob Dole, take your pick) are in the pocket of cooperate America. The Dems,in a smaller way, have also been complicit. However unions are square against this situation.Cooperate America uses cheap labor as a club against the unions.

The republican party is today,a wholely owned subsidiary of cooperate America. The Democrates are occasionally rented by cooperate interests, but for the most part join w/ unions.

The answer to this quandary,is to go after big and small businesses, that hire the laborers. If business owners were prosecuted and thrown in jail, you`d see a big change  and quickly. If businesses were confiscated or shut down when found to be hiring illegals, then the situation would get better.
The businesses and work places, are the concentration points where we should put our resources,to catch them. Not the frigg`n 1000 mile long border.

Go after the businesses who hire the illegals, and you`ll cut off what draws them here.If there were no jobs, they wouldn`t come here.Let`s go after the jobs, not the laborers, and  we`ll be a thousand times more affective.

Don`t count on bush to go after companies that hire illegals.Corporate America wants this, and gives truck loads of money to politicians who comply.
Peace
