I slap my slave for humiliation purposes.  I have done this twice when he has broken a major rule of mine which is no beer.  There is a reason for that rule.  He has a DUI, and he will not have another one.

I'm not big on it myself, but that's mainly because it can be dangerous.  If a Domme doesn't calculate her slap and hits too hard near the sides of your face/ears, there's a possibility of doing nerve damage.

Indeed, as well as a broken nose or worse in some instances.  The thing is that with most any bdsm activity there is danger of physical (including nerve damage) or emotional harm.  To each his own, but if I eliminated bdsm activities based on potential dangers, I would be left with very little.  Instead I try to be cautious and learn all I can about the things I desire to do.... and then proceed with passion.

Yes, this is definately one to be careful with.

My first sub (my ex-husband) told me a story about how a woman he was dancing with once was so into dancing and he  touched her and she just hauled off and *slapped* him and it made him really hard.

So, I figure he is into it.

Wrong.

When I tried it in a scene, he freaked. 

It was a time/place specific turn-on.  He Never wanted to be slapped again. 

And, yeah, it was a Huge turn on for me.

So I have spent the last 10 years gun-shy of face slapping.

As the one in control, it can be powerful, done to shock, or in the case of my dear switch mistress, she adores it.

As the one being slapped, I can find it jarring and shocking or simply erotic.  When done in contrast with a gentle caress and kind words proceeding it, slapping has actually made me come.
