For other forms of pain that are safe, the old dried-peas-in-the-shoes does wonders, especially after walking in them for a bit.

       There are all different kinds of pain, Aspire.  And "intense" is a very imprecise word around here.

      Try an electric flyswatter to see if that sort of play works for you.  Might cost a whole ten bucks.

       Another option does leave tiny marks, but they are almost imperceptible if you apply a bit off common sense in your location choices.  Using a hemostat to hold it, heat a sewing needle with flame, and apply for a very short duration (just kiss her skin for a fraction of a second).  So much more fun to let her watch you go through the heating ritual while she's bound.

       Plucking pubic hair can be fun too.

I've used electricity as an effect pain delivery mechanism that doesn't leave marks.

Several people have mentioned canes. One very useful technique for intensifying pain without marks is to drape wet silk over your submissive's bare behind and lay a few cane strokes over the silk. Start gently and work up. The harder the stroke, the longer the interval between the strokes should be. You can tell when they're ready for another one by observing their breathing and by how long it takes the muscles in their lower back to fully relax.

Two caveats.

One, I would not use this trick if she has never previously experienced the cane; the cane produces a unique sensation that intensifies significantly after the initial impact, and not everyone can tolerate it at levels a Dom might think would be appropriate. They may see someone using it in a way that makes it whistle and think that's 'normal.' There is nothing normal about the cane; it's all very individual. A stroke that whistles is a pretty heavy stroke.

Two, the cane is not an innocuous little implement. It can easily break the tailbone--but then, so can spanking. Anyone who uses a paddle, a cane, a strap or a hand on a submissive's bottom should know exactly where the tailbone ends. Place your hand palm down on their bottom with fingers splayed upwards toward the small of their back and feel for the tip of the tailbone with your thumb. Never hit above an imaginary line that skims the tip of the tailbone.

As a sadist, I "enjoy providing the level of stimulation that a masochist craves," as someone once said to me... but IMO it's always better to create a craving for what you'd like to provide than to trigger that "Never again!" response. If she's never had the cane, try this before the wet-silk trick. Have her lay flat on her tummy. Begin by tapping the cane gently with a couple seconds between each stroke. Increase the force very slowly, no more an increase than about 1/3 for any given stroke. It's this gentle part that makes them want more, more, MORE. By the time you get into the range that elicits a significant response, you may have an interval between strokes of four seconds or even more.

You have a lot of great ideas already. Here's a couple I haven't seen mentioned yet.

Enemas cause cramping, no marks.

Have her stand up straight with her arms out to the side (like a cross) and have her hold a heavy book in each hand. If you have her bend her knees just slightly with her toes pointed out, that will add to the discomfort.

Poke her with toothpicks in sensitive areas like between the toes, under her nails etc.

Pull her hair, the little baby ones in the back close to the neck line.

No seriously, i would remember the vice grip on my clitoris of course...but, i don't remember things i was punished for while being spanked excpet for one single incident and that was getting spanked really hard for wearing rollerskates into the house for the zillionth time after being told they had to remain outside.

i recall punishments, just not what they were for or the lesson being taught by them.

So that is why it that little bit of knowledge piqued my curiosity.

Pressure points and chemical/temperature/electrical stimulation were the ones that came to my mind. hot sauce on sensitive skin can be quite painful, and ginger root can be shaped into dildos and butt plugs.

You might want to do some Google searches on torture/"interrogation" techniques used in China and South America, and also taught at the School of Americas by the US Military. Since the advent of cheap photography, it has become standard to torture people in ways that do not leave marks or any evidence so that it can be denied. Making people stand in one place, in uncomfortable positions, build up lactic acid in their muscles, endure environmental extremes, sensory deprivation or overload, sleep deprivation, mock drowning, etc. Standard first aid/CPR disclaimers should apply -- be sure you can recover if something isn't as innocuous as you thought.

You forgot clover clamps.  Pffft.

Binding breasts AND clamping the nipples AND flicking them causes some pretty big ouches.

A whartenberg wheel over sensitive parts does, too.

If she has pubic hair, you can pluck those out one at at time

I've had my tongue clamped before but that was more to get me to shut up than to inflict pain.....
