A nasty sinus/headcold.

Aw...so sorry to hear that. Try this hot toddy; one oz each of Rock and Rye whiskey and simple syrup, one large lemon quarter, a pinch each of cinnamon, nutmeg and ground cloves, 8 ounces of boiling water, stir and sip.

It will ease congestion, soothe a sore throat and after two or three you will not even remember you have a cold.

Greetings
To the OP, I bring nothing more or less than Myself...good, bad, ugly....just Me. It is up to the two involved in discussions to see if there is value in the other....I have found Mine...as she has found hers. In the end....nothing else really matters.

These kinds of things are what the second half of my household manual consists of; the first half are the things I expect, the second is what I have to offer. It ranges from leadership to knowing how to run a simple budget.

I bring certainty, loyalty, reliability, and imagination.

DarkDaddyZ -> RE: What do you bring to the table? (7/23/2007 4:07:47 PM)

I bring adventure to the table.  It's never mundane and it's taster than gizzards.
Seriously, I personally think that's a private thing it's part of the mystery of the dance of a relationship, as you get to know each other you cross that bridge.  To just put out there I bring this this and that doesn't do much for me, I want to learn about potential partners through them, through our dance.

I think your household book sounds like a wonderful idea. Do you have it online or available to read somewhere?

You whack the chicken, i'll fry it. And we have several concrete walls that need busted out. How are you at digging big holes or hanging drywall?

Great question and not often asked directly in conversations and negotiation. Usually comes out though all the meetings and talks but nice to lay it all out on the table, so to speak..

I bring many things, like most do, to the table.
Organizational skills, hobbies and interestes encouragement and sharing, budget skills, employment and resulting pay check, humor, silliness, sexual service, devoted body/house/life service, management skills to the household, supportive and non-judgemental attitude, a car/boat/house, ability to do physical work, service skills.....

Thank you, grins, though as you can see by the links graciously posted by the Queen of info, LA, i am not the first to ask, lol.

I for one always tried to go into that part directly. I found it helped me get a better feel for what kind of a person i was talking to.  They may be a great conversationalist and that is
charming but can they hold a job? Are they responsible? Great so you can swing a flogger but if i am swamped with work or sick, Dom or not would  you take out the trash? So you have a great sense of responsibility but do not laugh at Benny Hill? Boring.

When i was looking i looked for similarities but also for complimentary abilities. After all three cooks and no dishwasher makes for fat happy people but a really disgusting kitchen.

And i have spoken with many and met a few who simply stated " i am the Master" or "i am the slave" and expected that to be enough. I want to know what is it about the individual that they believe has earned them this appellation. What is it they do, what is it about them that is going to make me see them as the type of person they call themselves?

Perhaps my way of thinking is off kilter, for some "i am" is enough but for me i want to know "why"

After all i can call a potted petunia Master but all it really is the Master of is attracting hummingbirds. Which is lovely if  you are a hummingbird but does not do much for me personally even though i like petunias.

I bring a deep need to please and make him happy. I cook, clean, iron his clothes, and decorate his home. I obey by doing my best. I help him write the best BDSM romance ever to be written. I give my body to him to do whatever he wants. I am his insatiable slut.  [:)]

Sometimes you look at yourself and hope to bring good things to the 'table', though at times you find you've brought the wrong things instead. Perhaps it's a bad thing, but if you're willing to live life, then you're willing to get better at it.

What do I bring to the table...
Humor, a smile, long hair to pet.
Retinal scarring when walking the streets of NY. (Inside joke)
A challenge (at times), for life is boring without the occasional stirring up.
Honesty.
Grammar (gods forbid) and the ability to use it. (Yes I'm aware of my broken sentences)
The occasional annoyance, something to be upset about or mad about.
And yes, I even bring bad things to the table.

Like I'd lie about it, ya know? Whatever purpose would be served in lying would not be a purpose of mine, therefore I fail to do it. We can't say we always bring good thigns to the table, as it were... because there's no way that any of us would be able to not upset another, or hurt them at some point in time... or what-have-you. It's human nature, and as perfect as someone may think they are... is just more reason to believe they're more imperfect than the rest of us.

We're not here just to live in a lifestyle that's all service and sensation... we're living this lifestyle to live life period.
Some of us just need more work than others.

Just my two pennies.
-Wolf

No, I don't. I used to, but my publisher asked me to take it down when I wrote a book about it. You can get the book at amazon. It's called Manual Creation.

What do I bring to the table?I have life experience.I have my own house. I have my own job. I am intelligent, I have a great capacity to learn new things.I have taken care of myself and my children on my own.  I have weathered 3 deaths and a flood all in one year. I am able to detach myself and leave a hopeless situation.  I am willing to give people time to work on our differences. I don't judge people by one mistake but I do expect them to not repeat it.I am not afraid of a challengeI am creative, I am not afraid to take risks, I'm not afraid to admit that I'm wrong when I make a mistake.  I can say I'm sorry when I hurt someone.I can create a space where two people can go and forget about the real world for a minute or a day.I can be fiercely loyal to those that are mine. And I am not perfectI can be stubborn, I can be a bitch.  I can be extremely selfish at times. I can be cruel. These are all the things that are in me, that I can do, that I have.  And it is only a partial list. ~Psy, currently pondering life and blood again.
