So, is that why the sites been so slow? Bad newbies! [:D][:D][:D] *joking for the humourly challenged*

ElectraGlide -> RE: We finally broke the record (7/23/2007 9:07:07 AM)

Right now there are 426 registered members online and 18,535 guest. I always wondered about that ratio. Would if you had 19,000 people posting in the forums, it would be hard to keep up with.

That has GOT to be Mod Eleven's worse nightmare!

Lordandmaster -> RE: We finally broke the record (7/23/2007 9:40:52 AM)

Don't worry.  Most of'em are my groupies, and they don't dare post anything without my permission.

Perhaps we should paddle everyone who's been here for less than a month's behind.  (But not anyone who joins after this suggestion- as some might make new accounts for said hazing.)

Go to the list of Forums.  Scroll down to the area at the bottom where is lists all those"on line".  Just above that to the left will be the "most on line at onetime" number with the date achieved.

Termyn8or -> RE: We finally broke the record (7/23/2007 1:01:14 PM)

I guess that explains why the site is so slow.

I was under the impression that guests can't post, can they ? My login is transparent so I would have to go to another PC to try it. Even if not, there is still one fact in evidence - almost 20,000 people want to read what we write. Or peruse profiles, but I am not so sure a guest can do that either. Which is it ?

Much of the time this forum is busier than many IRC chat rooms on bondage.com. And, there is such a variety of topics, if the content is available to a search engine, alot of this traffic might be people interested in our political issues and so forth.

If this is the case, everythig we type is public. And if there is that much traffic, I begin to see why they are so strict about the content here.

I always wondered how this place made any money, but thinking another way, if they get even 5,000 hits a day, even a small banner starts to pay. Something anyway. That's 1.82 million hits a year.

So dragone quit because he couldn't operate within the framework of this site. So be it. He claims there is political bias but I do not see it at all. I choose to recognize the fact that I pay NOTHING to be here, so I don't make the rules. And in light of the traffic count, whatever they are doing is working.

I still don't think they are doing it for the money.

Only most, LAM? You mean there are people on the site who aren't your groupies?!

ElectraGlide -> RE: We finally broke the record (7/23/2007 11:26:58 PM)

The reason I wondered about the 426 registered members and the 18,535 guest online is, you most likely have to be a registered member to post in the forums or trade messages. So what are the 18,535 guest doing ? Are they just reading profiles, maybe they are neighbors or co-workers spying on us, lol. Or are they reading the Forums to figure out where they stand ? Lets get a CM recruitment drive. 18,535 new members would be interesting.

Termyn8or -> RE: We finally broke the record (7/24/2007 10:29:24 PM)

No no no, we already have posts with near 20,000 replies. No way. Just let those thousands read our prose and banter.

Can you imagine this site with almost 20,000 posters ?

Quit scaring me like that.
