ORIGINAL: tag8833 I'm curious about chemical play that produces varying sensations. The problem is some chemicals can cause burns and rashes and such. Can anyone tell me some chemicals that cause sensations (hot, cold, pain, itch, tingle, etc) on the skin that don't cause burns, rashes or long term effects? I've used Muscle relaxant cream like Icy Hot, and various peppers and pepper extracts. Also, toothpaste and ginger. What other ideas? I've used both Icy Hot and Capsaicin. A while back I engaged in some rather painful sessions first with Icy Hot and then with Capsaicin (a cream derived for peppers used for arthritis pain relief). Capsaicin was far worse than Icy Hot (and doesn't wash off with water - some say you need to rinse with something that has fat to remove capsaicin). So beware. I am not sure about safety and therefore haven't done this in a while just to be on the safe side. Anyway, if you haven't done any of this I would avoid capsaicin and start slowly with Icy Hot. For safety reasons I wouldn't recommend constant use since anything in excess is usually bad. Neither of these caused any burns, however your skin will (usually) be red immediately after use. Both ointments are made for the skin (but not mucus membranes). I haven't tried any other chemicals. For pain delivery I use electricity. I like it because it is easy to control intensity and leaves no marks. Hope that helps Vengash
