I once had a female cat, a lovely Himalayan. She and my husband never really hit it off, as she considered him to be crude and he considered her to be snobby and standoffish. Her favorite spot to lounge was on the bathroom window sill. She could only reach it by jumping onto the toilet seat, then up to the sill. Jumping back down the same way was complicated by the fact that she could not SEE the toilet because of the window curtains. One day, she leaped down, and he had left the toilet seat up, and this elegant, fastidious cat plunged into the toilet with a huge splash. My husband was dying laughing as she raced past, all soaking wet and looking like an anorexic rat, with all her fluffy hair soaked and flat. She paused, and gave him a look that would have killed, before running to hide under the sofa. She did not know how, but she KNEW he was to blame, and she never forgave him for it. Needless to say, trying to get him to put the toilet seat down after that was useless, because he was hoping to see a repeat performance.
