i don't think of making myself something i'm not with makeup...rather more of what i am.  my lashes are very pale, so i make them stand out a bit and frame my eye, to make it pop. same with eyeliner, i use it to darken the edges of my eyes so they don't just get lost in the rest of my face.  i use eyeshadow to enhance the color of my eye.  i use a brand of mineral makeup made for the young and funky.  the colors i use are very pale, nearly white...with a sheen of color you can see in the light.  beautiful!  they add flash, they add an illusion of color to my otherwise wolfish grey eyes.  a little foundation to correct the variations in shade on my face, to reduce the redness. and the barest hint of color on my lips...to enhance the natural tint, make my lips look full, just a bit darker....like i've just been kissed to with in an inch of my life. *smiles*  used with a light hand and an eye to enhance, not recreate, makeup can be a wonderful thing!

Rather than using mascara I dye my eyelashes that way there aren't any smears to worry about. Its quick and easy and lasts for up to 30 day just brilliant :)

i've been looking into this.  do you do it yourself?? i've heard it can be quite tricky...and a little painful/burning.  is this something you need some assistance with?  enquiring minds want to know!

The one I use coloursport is really easy to use (you apply it just like mascara leave for ten minutes and wash off) and I have had no adverse side effects from it the only thing with it is that the sticj they supply to apply it with isn't any good so I use and old mascara wand which does the trick

oh oh oh oh
i always hated blidfolds because of the pressure they put on the eyes. i found this same one at walgreens and i love it. i think it even cost a bit less at walgreens

Try a different blindfold. I discovered a version that does not touch the eyes and is still a great blocking out any light. It was handed out during a long flight. It's comfortable and it puts no pressure on the eyes. There are foam cut-outs that go around the eye socket without touching it or the surrounding area. beth loves it. It doesn't slip and doesn't hurt her eyes if she happens to open them.

They are easy to find at any travel store in the mall. Here's a link to see what they look like. http://www.naturestapestry.com/mindfold.html

I was thinking along similar lines--how bout a good blindfold for mascara instead? ;-)

I have the one that Mercnbeth mentions. It's also good for those who wear contacts. Another approach I have seen is swimming goggles painted black.

Cheers,

Sea

I too dye my eyelashes - but i always go to a beauty salon - it takes about 20 mins (and i'm there anyway getting my eyebrows shaped!) and isn't that expensive - about 15 euro (not sure what that is in dollars at the moment). The first time i got it done it did sting a bit - but you get used to it and the effects are great! I never ever use mascara!!
