oneuptwoback -> the concept of "sub-space" and what gets you out of it (7/30/2007 10:49:14 AM)

I was reading a post below on spanking and noticed a few people mention "sub-space" and how certain things would make them leave that.  I'm a switch, but this is a new concept to me.  If I want to be better as a top I better understand how this thing works in the minds of subs.  So I have 2 questions.

1.  What is sub space?  Define this frame of mind as best you can.  Is it a 'zoning out' type thing?  How do you reach it?

2.  What are some of the most common things that make you leave sub-space?

1.  What is sub space?

An altered state of consciousness

A million ways.

A good analogy to use for subspace is an orgasm- there's many ways to reach orgasm, many different types of orgasms and many different experiences of what an orgasm is to a person.

Same with subspace.  It's not just one thing- it's not even always a positive thing.

2.  What are some of the most common things that make you leave sub-space?

Distraction, loss of connection.  Same things that make me lose an orgasm as well.

For me, I found sub space to be a feeling of being spaced out. As LA states a feeling of an altered state of consciousness where I liken to and out of body sensation. All cares and worries no longer exists and any sense of personal limits vanished.

my Master loves to put me into subspace. he loves that he has that controle over my body. and i love it too. today i was talking to him and he said something along the lines of me being his and having no choice in something and i felt myself slipping just from him saying that... he could tell i was cuz my voice changes and gets quiet and my breathing changes i guess. he said "No, get back here right now" or something along those lines in a dominating voice and it brought me back imediatly. lol i wasnt really in a physical place to be in subspace at the time so he had to bring me back for my safety. when i go into subspace its like im floating..my body feels weightless and my mind goes blank. i make this weird purring like noise and have a hard time talking.

I have varying degrees of sub-space.

The one I love which happens the most is my mind focuses on ever sensation & I end up in a state of constant orgasm, I only need to feel my skin blown on or a simple touch to send me reeling into spasm again... mmmm yummy.

The other one is where I'm completely gone and though I appear the same as above (with the constant orgasm) I am almost lifted from my body and my mind is up in the clouds soaring... I know this sounds strange but its the only way I can think of to describe it.

What brings me out of it?? When I'm like that I have to be left untouched, unstimulated or it just goes on & on.

Not sure if an order to come back would work but then I've never been in the position to try it... the domminating voice can be very grounding.... hmmmm, might like to try that[:)]

for me if i understand this right what you are asking is what is subspace
for me
its my safe haven my place where i can go and not worry about anything or anyone

what brings me out is the one who brings me to at the end
