Good ole "Bridge to Nowhere" Stevens!  I saw the guy in DC when I visited Congress...He's an absolute idiot.  This is the guy who said that "the internet is a bunch of tubes!"

FBI searches home of Alaska Sen. Stevens
Mon Jul 30, 2007 7:50PM EDT

WASHINGTON, July 30 (Reuters) - The FBI and IRS have searched the home of Republican Sen. Ted Stevens in a ski resort in Alaska as part of an investigation into his links with an oil-services company, officials said on Monday.

"The FBI and IRS are conducting a court-authorized search warrant in Girdwood, Alaska," an FBI spokesman said in Washington, but gave no further details.

The Alaskan politician, the longest-serving Republican in the U.S Senate in history, issued a statement saying: "My attorneys were advised this morning that federal agents wished to search my home in Girdwood in connection with an ongoing investigation.

"I continue to believe this investigation should proceed to its conclusion without any appearance that I have attempted to influence the outcome," the statement said.

Girdwood is about 40 miles south of Anchorage, the state's largest city.

Stevens is the subject of a grand-jury investigation into his links with managers of VECO Corp., the state's largest oil-services company, as well as numerous unrelated fisheries matters.

In May, Bill Allen, then the chief executive of VECO, along with a vice president, Rick Smith, pleaded guilty to several federal corruption charges. The two admitted paying over $400,000 to bribe Alaska lawmakers.

Aw shit, too bad it wasn't Lindsey Graham whose campaign coffers are full of money from businesses who want to hire illegal aliens.

This guy was so jaded and bold, that after admitting that he took illegal campaign contributions, said he was going to keep the money, because the statute of limitations had passed on the crime.

One more republican bights the dust.

There will be up to 25 indictments when this is over.

They are all crooks...

Both parties are full of liars, cheats, and criminals. Congress has become a joke.

Did you know that many congressmen are funding money to bridges, roads, and highways that don't need any repair or maintenance? Did you know John Murtha (the Vietnam war hero the liberals love and you are not allowed to criticize) wrote an amendment to a recent bill that funnelled $1 million dollars to an organization that doesn't exist?

Where is all this money going? A slush fund? Repay the corporations and special interests that got them elected? Bribe foreign governments? And then we wonder why our national debt is so high!

Congress deserves their 14% approval rating. And I say throw all the bumbs out and start over....
