Abyoozme -> Self Bondage - any others ? (7/31/2007 6:33:21 AM)

Well, I scanned 12 pages back into the discussion board and did not find any mention of this topic, so here goes (a little nervously)...
I am curious to know if there are many other people in the BDSM community who have had too resort to self-bondage (for lack of a better term) due to the unavailability of bondage partners. I have been doing this to myself since I was a kid.
Some of these "sessions" are quite elaborate and involve pulling strings etc.. to trigger falling weights attached by rope to my extremities. My most recent set-up includes a 3-point prone position on the floor of my garage. My ankles are bound to spreader fixed to the floor. I slip my wrists into a loop at the end of a rope that is attached to a weight behind me (almost equal to my own weight) and I "trip" it remotely (with a cord) such that it falls from a brace about 4 feet high. As the weight falls, it drags me across the floor until all the ropes are tight and I am stretched. A string wound around my jewels is attached to an empty plastic bucket hanging from a beam overhead and a hose trickles water into the bucket. This accomplished by turning an inline hose shut-off, placed near the wrist loop, just before I slip my wrists into it.
Anyway, am I the only one who goes to such lengths to experience my fantasies ???? Please, no flames - I'll just ignore them anyway.

I can only say this reminds me of the movie "The Hunting Party" w/ Peter O'Toole ... his father in the movie died this way.  Good flick.

Since you have done it before, you obviously must have safeties & escapes built into your system.  Just play safely!  And ... hope you find a partner.

goodgirl85 -> RE: Self Bondage - any others ? (7/31/2007 7:02:39 AM)

Wow, that sounds complicated! All I have to say is good for you on being creative enough to come up with a system like that. Just make sure the safeties and escapes you have are foulproof please. Also someone in your r/l should know that you do this, that why (god forbid anything happen) they know where to find you, should you get stuck.

And bravl for not waiting for a partner to satify yourself!!!!

PrincessinLatex -> RE: Self Bondage - any others ? (7/31/2007 7:08:45 AM)

Hey hey hey!

Self bondage isn't just for people without partners. My boyfriend practiced self bondage for a long time because he couldn't find someone to tie him up. He told me about some of the intricate scenarios/predicaments he'd put himself in. . .. and it excited me to the point that I have him put HIMSELF in inescapable bondage (usually this involves a LOT of locks.) I put all the keys frozen in ice within his grasp and taunt him for not being able to get out for a few hours :D

He's trying to talk me into doing dual-self-bondage (if that even makes sense) where we lock ourselves up together and freeze the keys so we can't get out til it melts. I'm a bit apprehensive because I can see myself inflicting serious pain on him for me not being able to get out when I'm good and ready/

-P

We bought this new bondage book a few months ago...and I was thumbing through it one evening after the kids were in bed and waiting for Sir to get home. I thought, hmm, that looks like a neat knot, wonder how it works. Needless to say I was sitting there rather embarrassed when Sir finally got home and had to untie me...

My one and only experiance with self bondage...I doubt Ill try it again....

earthycouple -> RE: Self Bondage - any others ? (7/31/2007 7:36:28 AM)

Bondage Babe on the Board.....

OP!  Come now, you can't find anyone to tie you up?  Do you live in Alaska or have terrible body odor?  Ok, end silliness.

I love rope and all the intracacies of it...smell, sound, look, marks it leaves, feel...I could go on all day.  However, without someone to enjoy my rope with me, it sits in its bag and waits patiently for its next victim.

Self bondage is a very real part of the lives of many people.  I've seen very intricate work done by people who simply have made lemonaid with lemons.  I applaud your ability to determine new and innovate ways to tie yourself up.  I simply hope you don't get yourself in a position like Ghita up there.  She has someone coming home to find her...do you?

Endeavoring to be a self bondage slut is cool and I give you kudos (but seriously....you can't find anyone to tie you up?  I live in all the wrong states.)

Jay Wiseman keeps some record of scene related deaths, and is often called as an expert witness and/or consultant in civil and criminal cases that arise from scene related deaths.  He states emphatically and categorically that self-bondage is by far the leading cause of scene related deaths.

Just a tidbit to pass along to those that engage in, or may consider engaging in, this type of activity.  At least you'll make an informed decision.

GhitaAmati -> RE: Self Bondage - any others ? (7/31/2007 1:54:38 PM)

Yea...all I did was tie my hands to the bed.....more embarrassing than dangerous...and if I absolutly HAD to...there were UMs in the house old enough to untie a knot...rather too embarressed to hollar for them unless there was an emergency. I hope you have someone who knows to check on you occasionally, or a way to call for help.

I'm not at all shocked by this.  Rope slips here, knot tightens there....Hell, I keep two pair of scissors on hand anytime I take the rope out of the bag and I'm the one not getting tied up sooo....yeah.  Much care to be exterted for those who choose to bind without assistance.

Yes, I have tied myself up before (self-bondage) just for that 'feeling' of being restrained and for the same reasons you state.  Always make sure you've got a way out just in case.  PM me of you want more detail.

CandyLover -> RE: Self Bondage - any others ? (7/31/2007 3:55:11 PM)

Even though I have play partners, I still occasionally indulge in self-bondage.  I don't have to worry about a top taking advantage of me (which is a big concern of mine), and I don't need to bother with filling someone else's needs.  It's total "me time"!  Personally, I feel that the benefits outweigh the risks, but everyone else's mileage may vary.  I never try anything that I can't get out of, and I always leave several knives and scissors around just in case something goes wrong.  For me, it can't replace bondage with another person, but it's fun every once in a while.

Abyoozme -> RE: Self Bondage - any others ? (8/1/2007 5:05:09 AM)

Wow - Thankyou all for the responses - guess I'm not completely alone.. LOL !
To answer a few questions :
Safety - I do keep a knife right next to me in case I need it, but really it's no problem slipping out of the loop binding my wrists, it's not tied to my wrists, I just twist it until it's reasonably tight, then trigger the weight. When I want out, I just reverse the twist, let go of the loop and voila! (BTW - I was wrong about the weight - it's not even half my own weight).
Bondage Partners - The only time I tried to bring up this subject with my wife, she blanched and behaved as if I were out of my mind. I love her but she's very "vanilla" and has no imagination, nor sense of adventure when it comes to sex (sex and bondage being inextricably woven together... in my mind at least). BTW - I wait until she's out of town before I attempt any self-bondage. I have tried, on occasion, to hook-up with dominants I've met online (both female and male), but for various reasons these have never worked out. Once, before I was married, I even went to a "massage parlor" which advertised bondage - it was completely unfulfilling and a little scary too. I never returned. So, the self-bondage (is there a better term for this?) is the only viable solution for me. Again, thanks to all of you for the (uncritical) responses ! : - ) Abyoozme in MI.

Cyntilating -> RE: Self Bondage - any others ? (8/2/2007 7:40:53 AM)

Abyoozme

Thanks for this posting...and was good to read the replies...

Living alone, with only my 21yo daughter dropping in on me once in a while> I never had/have attempted any of above..
but the thought has occurred!...Actually felt embarrassed to admit to it..so thanks for this thread..
The most I can claim to have done to self is wrap myself up in my beds blanket....roll and roll...when I have felt like I was either gonna come out of my skin with need to feel restrained..or wanted to hurt myself to relieve the need for "extreme sensations" ...
sigh..
But, it's just not the same...
I guess, for me, it's not the ropes that do the bondage and restraint...it's the one in control of the ropes...

Cyndi ( who needs to figure out a more creative signature lol )

Abyoozme -> RE: Self Bondage - any others ? (8/3/2007 1:20:47 AM)

Cyndi - I know that "gonna come out of my skin" feeling all too well and can sympathize. And you're right, it's definitely NOT the same as having someone else there to "control" things. : - )

Abyoozme -> RE: Self Bondage - any others ? (8/3/2007 1:24:00 AM)

BTW "D" - I LOVE that Abigail Van Buren quote ! Truer words were never spoken. : - )

Lordandmaster -> RE: Self Bondage - any others ? (8/3/2007 1:36:27 AM)

Ditto.  Any trapper will tell you that his worst nightmare is to get caught in his own trap.  That can be deadly.

ExSteelAgain -> RE: Self Bondage - any others ? (8/3/2007 2:06:21 AM)

I've talked with a very level headed lady who is into self bondage, in addition to being tied up by others. She sent me pics of elaborate bondage she has done on herself and explained it is a real fetish for her. I'm sure you will find others on here who are into it.

ClandestinedOne -> RE: Self Bondage - any others ? (8/29/2007 4:52:33 AM)

i indulge in it occasionally, and wished i didn't any room mates or i'd try something just as elaborate as the garage deal.  Sounds wonderful, actually.

taintedgypsy -> RE: Self Bondage - any others ? (8/29/2007 5:04:56 AM)

ok never even occurred to me, but hey sounds interesting ... an option should I spend much more time as a recluse in these hills lol.
thanks for the thread.

ladysekhmetka -> RE: Self Bondage - any others ? (8/29/2007 6:05:30 AM)

There's a lock out there somewhere that you lock it by filling it with water and freezing it.  You'll get out eventually, but you'd have to wait for the ice to melt.

Never tried it thought ::shrug::
