This isent actually part of my story series, rather its just a simple observation I had on Monday.
Warning, some very small Simpsons spoilers, nothing special though.

I love the cinema.
However I dont love it for the movies themselves or the free air conditioning, oh no...I love it for that ever present "second show" that happens all around you when you choose just the right movie to go see. For example when I went to go see Jackass 2, I made sure to go when I knew the theatre would be packed, and I also made sure to drag my mom along instead of any friends. Why? easy, so I could hear the screams, groans and cries of agony from everyone in the audience, eccspecially in some of the shitting sketches they did. i love those reactions, and they're a large part of doing any kind of activity where a group of strangers is present.
Whats so much better however...is when it completly takes you by suprise.
I decided to go see the Simpsons finally,went to a matinee so it would be cheap and there wouldent be as many people, cause frankly in this case I felt a little weird going to see an animated movie all by myself.
Well I was right, not a whole lotta people, but there where a couple groups of parents who decided it would be a good idea to bring along thier 5 to maybe 8 year old spawn, likely thinking it was just going to be some cartoon movie. Which prompted me to think...dident these motherfuckers ever see the simpsons before? I mean goddamn, what are these dumbfucks thinking?
My opinion actually softened a bit when the previews came on, showing an Alvin and the chipmunks movie coming out and another disney/pixar thing which will likely will be the bane of every parent with a kid below the age of 10. So it got me thinking, jeez, maybe the Simpsons movie wont be all it's cracked up to be if this is what theyre advertising with it.
And then...Bart's penis showed up.
The movie was actually pretty good up till then, but I still had that little tension in me due to the kids in the audience and the previews before that this movie wouldent deliver up to my expectations, but then the little tallywhacker showed up and all was right with the world again. Me and a couple of the other people who went there alone laughed our asses off while there was an ominous silence coming from the parents, a moment that would be repeated throughout the movie with the scenes of homosexuality, bong hits and sexual content.
Hearing the sweet innocent voice of a 5 year old girl asking "Mommy, why da two policemen kissing?" is the sort of stuff that even fucking pulitzer winners dont have the skill to churn out. My only regret was that I dident sit in the same aisle so that I could see the dumbfuck mother's face become distorted and confused as her little darling's query.
I likely would have died from sheer entertainment overload.
All in all, a pretty good movie, if it was a little longer it would have been worth waiting 13 years for it to finally come out, but in any case, the 6.75 I paid ensured I got more than my money's worth, and thats not counting the quite enjoyable "second show" I got.
