My problem with expecting a journal from my boys is that, aside fro the fact that neither of them are writers in the first place, they are both students. They would not be writing what they truly felt, theyd be writing what they wanted me to see. It would be a worthless and timewasting excercise, for us.
Allowing someone to keep a journal for themseves and demanding one of them are very different. A demanded journal tends to be a work of fiction, written to make the demander happy and not terribly indicative of the writer. I have had pets do that. And besides, I would prefer the boys ut their efforts into high grades in school rather than reading material for me.

I would not ask a student to keep a journal because I would not date anyone that young to begin with.   Too much work for me.  LOL

Actually I think this is a great idea, I might start to request this.
But, I will use an online journal or email format.
I don't need him to journal for the world to see.
Thanks again for the idea!
I love this place.

I have been told that I must keep a journal before, and it went miserably. Because it was an assignment, I felt that it had to be immaculate. I spent more time proofreading and coming up with pretty metaphors than I did getting my thoughts onto paper.

Now it's more of an at will thing. I am allowed to keep a private online journal to keep up with friends, but things of importance must be made available. I keep a black binder for these things. When I need to get something out, I write it down and leave the notebook out so He knows I have put something down.

I have never been good at vocalizing some things. It is much easier for me to write. This way I am still being open with Him, but I am not forcing myself to write a term paper.

I like and want my slave to use an online journal that I can read at will. I want them to be able to write and express how they are fealing without any fear or pressure from me.

However, like all forms of communication between people, someone will only be completely honest and free in a journal that I am reading if they can be completely honest and free in a comfortable and safe place.

One of the biggest mistakes I made with this in the past was taking the information in the journal and using it in a negative way. This only reinforced her to not be open and honest in writing in her journal.

I also try to make her forget I am reading it by not discussing things in the journal unless I feal they are crucial and important.

having lived in a large poly family for many years, Owner decided to impose a verbal rule when He was in the resident of No speech unless asked ....and so the journal was born as a punishment for being youth and female. This started over 39 years ago and still continues today....
The values are great for both of U/us....an outlet for this one to express without fear her inner thoughts and thoughts of the day and to Him to understand what is happening within His slave.....

If on my own decision, I wouldn't journal as I never enjoyed it. I don't know why, it just never fit with me. But yes from what I've seen, a lot of Dominants seem to want it. My ex never even read it when I had to do it

MJ knows I have a few online journals, He hasn't expressed much interest in them one way or another. He does know that I have started to NOT post as much about our relationship; even the journal I have under my pillow doesn't have anything about Him as of late written.

IF MJ asked me to keep a blog for Him, would I? Sure. We talk so things that are in my head get expressed to Him anyways, when I do blog, its on things that I want out of my head, not neccessarly about life or about my relationship or my munchkin or work, just that 'stuff.'

I did keep a blog for a while at the request of a past master, he wanted it daily when possible and public, so I did it. No harm, no foul.
