It isn't so much that I take it personally. It is more along the lines of they offer nothing except the crowing of their own perfection.
Yes I can and do laugh at that, but sometimes it just feels like a pebble in my shoe.

Ooh I am stealing this for my Sig Collection!

Thank You, Lady!

Usually, I just think to myself "well, there's another person to strike off of my list as a potential gene sharer". Works wonders at supermarkets and highways too!

As for your 'should I just keep swallowing?" question... why allow it into your body to begin with? If you're into electrical play, this may not help, but repeat after me: you are all just pixels on my screen... coloured pretty pixels of light on my screen. You are nothing but a happy electron in my screen.

Don't believe me? Lick one of the posters on your screen then im them to see if your slobber is on their face.

The Taste Test... heh

The internet is seductive...

We fill in the (necessary) blanks as we choose, albeit subconsciously...
with our preference... in the realm of  'ideal'...
whether that be perfect potential,
or perfect betrayal,
or perfect... other.

Shamelessly Stolen Sig:

No trees were harmed in the sending of this message.
However a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

kiyari,

absolutely.  Reality will never live up to cyber ideals.  Cyber ideals, fortunately, will never live up to reality ;)

I was so close to calling myself "Pebbleinshoe" but at the last moment I opted for Domiguy.  It's just to hard to come across as a Domly figure when people are calling you Pebbles.

I do get upset with harshness & rudeness.

Mais, mais, mais... I am harsh and rude nearly all the time, yet you and I get on like a house on fire, so it's not just that!

Stomp! You're kind and polite but some people get to you: you're just unable at present to tell them how you feel about them. I think that's really fucking cool: you avoid conlict whilst not joining in the consensus.

If you still have problems with this, I'd be happy to spank you into shape :-p

PS: edited because I effed up the word 'consensus'.

(Smiles)  But only if you put a sweet lil bow on the top of your head

Yes,  Camille - it is one of those days. Maybe it has something to do with: the alignment of the planets? The 95 degree heat? The stock market?

I don't know but I feel it too.  As others have said - please don't let it put you off.   Many of us are much nicer in person.

Be well, leatherette

Todays topic is 'Perspective'. Almost a rant but I do have a question.

Like every forum there is sniping and passive aggression tossed about.

Poor pollyanna is feeling a bit jaded today! It brings to mind the thread on 'are there useless people'. Not being able to find something valuable after a couple thousand posts by someone is not something I'm used to and I want to change that so I'm asking for help on it.

Are there useless people? Maybe they have no value to you.
They are not here for you.   Maybe they feel jaded?

Some thoughts.
Shhhhh,
Z

I just think, well, it must really suck to be them.  I can just log off and go about my day and forget all about them, but they have to be with themselves for the rest of their lives.

hi Camille,

I know exactly how you feel, there are a couple of posters here that, once they get "ahold" of a thread, I don't even bother to continue reading it anymore.  one of the rules I made for myself regarding posting is, that once a thread gets past 4 pages or so, it's usually deteriorated or wandered so far away from the OP that it's just not worth the effort.

there was a thread awhile back that I became personally involved with, because it is something I feel very passionate about.  I felt pretty frustrated because frankly, some people tend to be very selective in their reading comprehension.  finally, it was the words of my Daddy that helped me get past my frustration:  "Why are you letting a bunch of faceless tools on the internet make you upset?"

hehe...worked like a charm.  so now, it's kind of like picturing people in their underwear when speaking in front of a crowd.  I just remember that phrase "faceless tool" and it kick-starts my laughter.

Sometimes, ya just gotta look at em and laugh, shake your head and wonder, 'Where do they come from 'cause it sure isn't the same rock I crawled out from under!'

I do prefer rocks, pebble just don't cover as well (unless it's the Domi/Pebble guy, he seems supply good coverage), as you pointed out, they can get in your shoe
< laughing>

--Domi-- I just love your humor.

Pebbles is.. cute .

bignipples2share about what rock they crawled out from? That is the crux of it all, I really want to know what rock it was so I can understand why they are the way they are lol.

Ah the eternal quest for knowledge. It's never boring!

Another thing I keep in mind is a study I read on internet communication once. The amount of misunderstanding that occurs in this medium was well over 50%. That fact right there tells me that getting upset might be absolutely rediculous.

People will do what they will, jenny. Fughetaboudit. People also only do what you allow them to do. It doesn't make their rantings and ravings "right" but you, and only you, are in control of your own feelings.
