And I'm not talking about a glass of wine with dinner here. I'm talking about someone who had "knocked" down a few.

And if you so feel inclined I would appreciate a reason for your answer.

Thanks in advance,

Nope, and I know no one real time who would. Not unless they knew the person very well and knew exactly what those ten drinks or whatever amount it was, was going to do to the person.

Would it impair their abilities?

I have scened many times with my slave when she has had some drinks. I don't drink, and I always monitor her alcohol consumption and she will only drink as much as I allow her to. But she is pretty good about that anyway, so there has never been a problem.

Nope. But aside from safety reasons it also stems from a personal bias. I'm just not keen on alcohol.

No, no, no, no, no, too many bad things could happen. I won't do anything sexual when one or both of us has been drinking heavily. I have other reasons as well, but I just don't do it.

No chance, no way no how.
If they've been drinking, too many risks are there. If you're into edge play (which I am) you bleed easier when you've been drinking. You slur your words, your reaction times are slower etc etc. I'm all for RACK, but I think mixing alcohol with what we do is NEVER a good idea.

The question being would I play with someone... or be played with by someone... who had been drinking. Drinking being defined as drunk, or really buzzed, obviously impaired, staggering, slurred speach....just doesn't look right anymore.

No, I would not.

Having a drink or two, I do not think in most cases, causes sufficient impairment to be bothered with.

Have I ever played...(been the bottom person) after having drank, yes I have. I don't see anything wrong with that. I always, always know who I am playing with, Master is there and always watching over me.... and it has it's own very nice sort of reactions, and sensations.

This is an easy one - NO

someone who has "knocked" down a few is most likely unable to fulfill the safe and sane parts of the SSC mantra, that and like others I generally have a very minimal desire to be around alcohol and those consuming it.

yes, i have, and it was wonderful. But I think theres the matter of which one is drinking. My ex LTR dom never drank at all, and I rarely drank, but would sometimes let me drink enough to where I wasnt in control of myself anymore. And he would take me home, and very slowly ease me into subspace and then have his way with me. But I would never scene with a dom who had been drinking.

This is quite a 'loaded' question. There is a continuum between one glass of wine with dinner and one fifth of rum in a couple of glasses of coke. I'd play along the continuum, up to a point, with diminishing play, as the 'toxic' levels are approached.

A few drinks have been known to loosen things up a little. Even so, alcohol tends to cause a relaxation in that pseudo-sphincter dividing the esophagus from the stomach, so even a few drinks would rule out strapped down flat on the back, to say nothing of inverted suspension. Some verbal 'putting through the paces', though, might work for a while.

Everyone is different in the way alcohol manifests. It is a wise Dom who can gauge this, and an even wiser sub who can recognize the problem in self or Dom and politely but firmly decline play for that day. Erring on the side of caution is good.

In short, I think there are varying shades of grey between the white 'go for it!!" and the black "No way Jose" choices. When in doubt, leave the BDSM stuff in the chest or in the closet or in the playroom and maybe indulge in <gasp> vanilla relating until the next day.

Of course, your mileage may vary, and more than likely does.

No. i won't pass the time of day with someone who's "knocked a few down." i personally feel that to do so is irresponsible, you're willingly relinquishing control of your behavior to the alcohol, as well as downright disgusting. If a person would like a glass of wine with dinner once in a while, that's fine, anything more is not something i'm comfortable with.

Yes I will.
As a matter of fact, "forced intoxication" is a scene in and of itself.
