Maybe I'm just weird ...  But personally - I thought it would be outstanding if the CM forums could sponsor a 'Writer's Corner' section of the Forums; maybe one where up and coming writers could post their poetry, fictional and/or non-fictional pieces, and possibly even do some thread-based roleplaying.

(Geeky of me, I know; but what I can say - I'd like to stimulate my biggest erogenous zone!  And no, you pervs, I'm referring to my brain.)

My reply did not exist.  I am certain some would care, and I am certain others would not.  I am just not entirely sure where it would fit into the CM world?  Collarme, collarchat, and collarprose?

You like writing?  Good on ya.  I think most amateur writers are great in their own minds.

As Satyr said, Literotica is a great site for that.

Yours,

benji

You asked for opinions, you got them.

That reaction just shows what would happen if you posted your work to there and it got a critique.

REAL mature there, my love.

Yours,

I think its a great idea.  Though Im not a writer myself, I would enjoy reading other people's works...right here on CM.

Although i do write myself - i am very selective who i share with so i would never use the writers area - maybe a browse through occassionally - but if people want to share then why not let them share!

The main problem with this as found out on other sites is copy write issues. Once you post a story here and someone else steals it the site finds itself in the middle of a fight between two parties. There is also the fact that someone has to check that work posted here is from the author concerned and ensure parts of it were not stolen from other works. This happened a lot in the nineties with many authors copying bits they liked and changing endings etc. There is also the problem related to several contributing authors working on one story and then one of them decides they want to form a new site and so takes the work with them claiming they did most of it anyway.

Consider the initial responses, I'm actually pleasantly surprised by how supportive everyone's been - thank you very much for not taking potshots at me...  ^.~

As far as the copyright concerns, FullCircle, I can agree that it could turn into a bit of a headache.  Normally I think people are now taking copyright interpretations to mean any viable form of printing that's documented, and most people on the internet are pretty good about policing each other I've found - which actually becomes rather intimidating.

I wasn't saying we should have a 'Writer's Corner' now, give it to us; I was primarily just curious to see if anyone else had similar leanings to myself - hence, the poll.

I'm glad I dared to post it, and I'm doubly as happy for all the feedback and votes, whether positive or negative.

Several years ago there was a "creative writing" forum.  Not sure why it was pulled.
