all I ever hear about are apartments allowing tiny dogs, like 25 and under.

He was a very lazy dog and slept about 20 hours a day. i know my complex allows dogs up to 75 lbs. Or you can have two dogs total combined weight no more than 75 lbs. Here we only pay a pet deposit, but i looked at some that also required pet rent. You just have to keep looking... of course i live in Missouri and things may just be different here...

Well Ideally I do not wish to, However ginger is quite lazy, and content to just lay about with you or in the livingroom, and does not have a lot of the issues required with a larger doggie of her weight, and of course we;d walk her and him and take them to parks. It's a matter of get rid of the dogs, or squeeze into a small place in the future. We want to rent a house or a duplex. Getting rid of our animals isn't an option to us. We're of the mind we took on a responcibilty and we love them. Bigger animals in smaller places can work if your dog is suited to it, Ie not highly energetic, don't want large spaces, and easy going. quote: ORIGINAL: Zensee Why would you want to put a big dog in a small home? Sure, I have a condo that I'll let big dogs into, $4,000 per month.

It varies from city to city. Years ago, I was looking into relocating to the Ft. Lauderdale area, and I was amazed at how pet-friendly the rentals there seemed to be. It was pretty much anything goes there. Other places, it's almost impossible, especially for larger breeds. You might try posting a "reverse" ad in the paper...."couple with older, quiet, housebroken dog looking for 2-bedroom apartment....." You'll probably have better luck renting from a private owner than an apartment complex. The rules are much more strict in complexes owned by corporations.

It took me almost a year to find an apartment in Jacksonville, FL that would allow my dog...120lbs. I had to pay a massive deposit, an extra 25$/month rent, and the dog had to pass a behavioral test for the complex, but they finally let him in. Finding an apartment that would allow my other dog...7lbs...was easy. And the funny thing is, my 7lb dog has caused more damage and noise problems that the 120lb dog ever has!! ghita~
