wonders if any kind person could explain how to get into irc chat

michaelOfGeorgia -> RE: irc (8/2/2007 3:36:36 PM)

IRC is a link to chatrooms and they are set up in what is known as servers. there are quite a few servers out there and more chatrooms than i can count (since anyone can create a chatroom, making the number of rooms vary)

humiliationslag -> RE: irc (8/2/2007 3:38:23 PM)

thank you so much but have downloaded the programe but cat seem to connect to any of the chat rooms

stef -> RE: irc (8/2/2007 4:29:26 PM)

Which IRC?  Are you trying to connect to the IRC server that CollarMe runs or some other server/network?

~stef

humiliationslag -> RE: irc (8/3/2007 5:34:55 AM)

yes the one collarme runs thanks

stef -> RE: irc (8/3/2007 6:07:26 AM)

The server name is chat.collarme.com.

michaelOfGeorgia -> RE: irc (8/3/2007 6:16:26 AM)

CM has a chat server?

stef -> RE: irc (8/3/2007 6:30:03 AM)

Since I just posted the server's name, that's an awfully silly question, isn't it?

The Java chat you can get to from the profile side of the site is just a crappy front end for the CollarMe IRC server.

can someone help me please. i've chatted via mirc here before because i  just can't get on via java no matter what. Now i can't get on at all to the chatrooms. i've  apparently messed up my mirc pretty bad i'm guessing

kc692 -> RE: irc (7/27/2008 3:03:51 PM)

The irc server address you need to add manually on the server list in mirc is actually www.collarme.com and the port number is 6667.
