They are pretty much much what they sound like.

A good comparison is a well trained dog. Tell him to sit and wait and he will do just that until told otherwise.

Tell a sub she is to hold her hands in certain position until told to move and she will. Regardless of what else is happening. The vocal restraint becomes the rope or cuffs which retrain.

Is that any clearer?

Well, if they didn't mean just a gag then I'm going to guess they might have been referring to something I've also heard called 'mental bondage' or 'verbal restraints'. The simplest example would be if a dominant told a submissive to "Stay". I've seen more complex examples as well (they can be very challenging) but they basically boil down to a command to remain as is being given, and the submissive doing their utmost to carry it out without the support of actual restraints.

Of course, I could also be completely wrong but that was the first thing that popped into my mind when I read your post. [:)]

Thank you, yes, that's clearer. lol. Wasn't a very bright question was it. I thought there was more to it than there actually seems to be. Still better to have asked and got a simpler answer than I was expected than the imagine I know what was meant and one day end up looking an even bigger idiot cos I thought I knew the answer.

Thanks again

There is no such thing as a stupid question! If you need to know the answer that makes it valid.

I bet there are a number of people who wanted to know but didn't like to ask.

As you very rightly say, far better to ask, than to assume.

Looking forward to seeing more questions from you :)

The only stupid question is the one you don't ask.

it is not necessarily the gag but the technique

what works for keeping a girl silent during intense use of the belt as not to alert neighbors of a consentual beating rather than an abusive beating?

what works for a total silence except the sounds of the Belt striking?

consent is given for severe belting
