People ALWAYS forget about the one in the chamber.

I was lucky enough to learn my lesson about that with an aerolite pistol.

I don't mean to ever tell people what they should or shouldn't do... But this was really fucking dumb.  When you engage in suspension, have a professional do the holes.  When you play with autoerotic asphyxiation, have a spotter.  When you play with rape, have a safeword.  If you want to play with guns, use a model, or a BB gun.  I'm bigger on SSC than some, and that's fine, but if you feel the need to use a real gun to get the rush you were looking for, you roll the dice.  When you gamble, you eventually lose.

A couple of points:

Disclaimer:  I live in the United States, where citizens have a Constitutional Right to bear arms, though I also often have bare arms.  People who live in other countries have different rules.  I can respect that...just respect my decisions too.

A) Guns are tools designed to kill people and they do it well, thankfully!  They are the "great equalizer" of our time, allowing a 95 lb woman to have the same "say so" as a 200 lb rapist.  I wish someone close to me had had a gun last week when this happened to her.  [ Engage seething, rage mode with that powerless feeling. ]

B) A gun that doesn't work to fire bits of metal very fast is just a hunk of metal.  And handguns are just there to help you get to your long gun which fires those bits of metal much faster.

C) Guns should always be considered loaded.  See the Four Rules of Firearm Safety

D) Practicing with a gun is important, as it is with any tool.  Remember that first day with the crop?  OOOPS!  Too hard?  Didn't mean to .... 

E) My wife and I both carry handguns and have Concealed Weapons Permits, which required a background check and fingerprinting through the State of Florida (Charles Bronson DOES oversee the permits in Florida!  Not that one, a different Bronson...but hey!)
Why?  She opened a new restaurant and was going in to prep for the day early. (See "A" above)  We both go to the range an practice quite a bit.  

We also live in "the murder capital of Florida" right now.  Why should the bad guys be the only ones with guns?

I mean, sure I could get this cell phone, or even this New Orleans Cell Phone,  but the police would still take to long to get there.  I just can't afford private security around me 24 hours a day.

F) Misconceptions abound on both sides of the "Gun Issue"   Basically it comes down to who do you trust more, your fellow citizens in general or your government in particular?

THAT all said (and yeah, I could keep going on, but I'm stopping....pudding stirred enough)  it was unconscionable and downright stupid.   But then, we do have the Darwin Awards for a reason.  To quote Forrest Gump: "Mamma said stupid is as stupid does!"

OH, and I loved the cow clip!

Bravo!  Might I add that guns and alcohol consumption do not mix?  My ex husband pulled a handgun on me and was originally arrested for domestic violence but later got charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.  Do I believe in gun control?  Only when someone has both hands on their guns!

My father owned quite a few handguns around the house and when he told me not to touch a certain box that had an handgun in there, I never was interested in playing with it.  However, if parents own handguns, they should take some extra measures to safely put these items in a secure place. 

This is a tragic case but it is the owner's responsibility to ensure safety.

Wow thats pretty fucked up..Should have really used a BB gun?.....imagine the shock she got when the gun went off and he was slumped over with a bullet wound in his head?..damn thats fucked

Hello. I am not a novice on guns there fore the woman or the man should have checked the chamber of said gun and made sure it was fully umloaded and removed the firing pin to ensure the safety of themselves and others as well around them. MW

I have absolutely NO sympathy for stupid people like that. It just amazes me how folks can play so dangerously. Just another idiot giving safe lifestylers a bad name.

I don't see anything wrong with edge play like this (and breathe play) as long as it is done with some common sense. Let me expound:

The Dom goes and buys a FAKE gun which cannot be loaded or fired, not even blanks. The Dom doesn't tell the sub that it's a fake gun and scares the crap out of the sub with it. In the end, there is no risk of physical injury involved. One has to consider the psychological implications as well, but I'm assuming people who engage in this type of play are doing so consensually and actually enjoy it.

It is also interesting to analyze the motivations behind the Dom. Does the Dom get a thrill because of the sub's reaction or does the Dom get a thrill because there is real danger? The latter is irresponsible in my opinion.

As far as breathe play is concerned, I think it is never acceptable to choke until the point of passing out. That is just as crazy as gun play with a real gun. There are, however, lots of people that enjoy the sensation of being choked.
