LOL  That is exactly the example I used in the thread I started earlier today re:  Twue Punishment

Hard to imagine it wouldn't be a deterent...but seems some find it fun.  Actually, I've had my back whipped bloody, but when ya do it for fun it seems different, somehow.

Your link was ever so much better than YouTube's... Thanks

There are a few on this site, who would just love this....

Good for them!
We need to start getting creative with punishment in the U.S. too.

Bearlee -> RE: Extreme Caning video in the news. (8/4/2007 10:05:12 PM)

It is more in this mode that I would enjoy a whipping; mostly whips though, canes are so heavy!  As I said, I've had marks like that from a cane...though fewer, and I've been whipped bloody, but it just seems different when it's not for fun, yanno?

Consent is an awesome thing...even when feeling very sadistic and toppy, I don't think I could do that to someone who did not ask me for it first...and I LOVE leaving marks!

Owner, did you read the other thread I mentioned above?  I wonder if such punishment actually works...

I wonder how much anti-social behaviour we'd have if we had such a system?

Cant imagine many but the most stupid coming back for a second dose - which would be doubled of course.

One must also ask though, if the death penalty (where still in use) and long sentences are a deterrent, as our politicians tell us - yet crime is ever present and seemingly ever more serious, would it work to deter or just provide sadists like me with an unexpected career opportunity?

"...would it work to deter or just provide sadists like me with an unexpected career opportunity?" [LadyEllen]

ROFLMAO...  I never thought of that, LadyE!

Seriously, what we're doing now clearly does not work.  While you'd think a death penalty looming out there would be the ultimate deterrant, apparently it is not.  I still vote for less 'cushy' surroundings (like no tv), hard labor, education...and actually never seeing the free world if ya actually become a career criminal.

Does anybody know if corporal punishment IS a deterrant or not?

Hi MsB

The only comment I heard on the subject was from a police seargeant on the Isle of Man (semi autonomous island between England and Ireland) where they still used the birch I believe up to the 50s/60s. His comment was along the lines of "they dont come back for a second dose" or some such - which is where I got my turn of phrase from.

Although of course, it could just be that "they" decided to pursue their criminal careers on the mainland rather than at home rather than being deterred.
