This post is basically for people who first lanuague is english.
My Master was in Vietnam during the war and he has picked up some phrases and sometimes he used them with me. Yesterday i asked him something and he said sin loi.  I think he said sorry no.

Do any other subs/slave have a Master who speaks another lanuage other then English? if english is his first lanauge?

Well my partner and I speak a lot of geek slang and sometimes that can be a foreign language to others.  And over time we've developed a system of looks, gestures, and movements to communicate a lot.

But I know more other languages than he does...except when it comes to computer languages.

well if this counts...My husband is forever replying to me using movie lines that go right over my head. He also knows various phrases in various languages (which also go over my head).

Like LA we are geeks here so I suppose when I mention D20s, rolling for init. or Whitewolf unless I have geeky slaves (which I prefer) they are confused.

Beyond that, I don't use "special" non English words with my slaves unless we have some private inside joke.

He speaks French and some German, I speak Spanish and some Italian, so we have all of our European bases covered.

It does make for funny conversation because our knowledge of the pronunciation in the opposite language is pretty much null.  I have no idea of the various rules in either language, except that French has a lot of rules.  My best moment was when I asked about the Kah-ness film festival (otherwise known as Cannes).  He tries (somewhat miserably) in Spanish, too.  We were at a Spanish (as in Spain) restaurant, and he wanted to order - so I told him what to say, and then the waiter asked "para un o para dos?" (paella is really big, and we usually only get 'for one' to split).  My M just looked blankly at the waiter, as I answered (in Spanish).  So sad.

It is also really horrible because he's in DC - where everything is French, and I'm in NM where everything is Spanish.  At least we are both learning a lot!

My Master speaks Italian - i love listening to him talk on the phone to his Mother.  It's an incredible turn on.

My Dom is rather fluent in Spanish, and His pronunciation truely amazes me.  At the moment, we are both trying to learn Gaelic, which is proving to be more difficult that originally thought.

My Master speaks a little French but is a native English speaker, and I speak both English and French natively (even though raised in the US, my father worked for a French company), along with Spanish, Italian and Hungarian to some degree- plus, I'm taking classes in Arabic, German and Chinese this year just for fun. :)

We transition between English and French a lot in this house, and he's learning to cope with my speed and fluency, haha. He is getting much better, though, and it helps to keep my skills up as well. It's nice sometimes because we can use that around those unfamiliar with the language to be having a completely inappropriate discussion, haha.

I don't have a master but I thought I'd chime in here anyway.  My sub speaks italian, greek, some spanish. german  and english.  I too like listening to him talk to his family on the phone.  Everything just sounds so fast.  I don't have a clue what's going on but I do like the sound of it.

My Dom speaks Icelandic (his native tongue), German, Norwegian, and some Sweedish I believe as well as English.

The funniest experience I've had has been him waking up, not realizing where he is and asking me a question in Icelandic. Since it usually means I am also only half awake it usually takes us a few times of asking "what?" to realize he is not speaking English. we both get a good laugh out of it.

I am trying to learn Icelandic (Its been more of an issue when we go out in Iceland where all of his friends speak Icelandic and naturally fall into that as the primary conversation language) understand Spanish, some Russian and can say a few things and understand a few things in Dutch.

My Master is from Brooklyn. Does that count as a foreign language?   (Are you laughing at me? What? I amuse you?)

lol...ive had people tell me my south georgia accent is another language.....at the last job I worked for, there was this old man named Red who worked in the lumberyard. Now Red was this wonderful old man from Alabama with no teeth. We used walkie talkies to communicate at work and those of course make it even more difficult to understand what people are saying even when they do speak clearly. I was known as the official Red translator. I had to keep my radio on all day just to tell other departments what he was trying to say to them. I went and had lunch outside with him everyday because no one else could talk to him...and he made perfect sense to me.

As a military wife we spent many years in Korea and Okinawa and I was the one that picked up the language. So I sometimes will use some phrases to be funny.

i love Daddy's Virginian accent.  i'm the one who enjoys conversing in foreign phrases to Him with my Spanish, French, Italian and some Russian.

My ex Dom was South African. He spoke French, Hebrew and Swahili in addition to British English. The first time he said, "I'll knock you up in the morning." I looked at him like he had two heads.
