WE are not all armed..... if people knew for a FACT... that others were indeed armed, wouldn't they tend to be much less rude? It is one thing to call some one a cocksucker, quite another if he might shoot you for it.

......but there are unarmed societies out there that do have a reputation for politeness and courtesy. Perhaps a more accuate motto may be, 'An armed society is a society too shit scared to say boo to a goose........'cos there's nothing scarier than an armed goose'
