Can a government  really ban a parent's weird name choice for the new bundle of joy or is it merely rejected because of the digit?  Apparently so......the kid will be thankful in the harsh reality of the grade school years and on his first job interview.

Who cares and why would the government?

I could never understand the logic of parents saddling thier children with way offbeat names!

It was interesting reading some of the comments at the bottom 'what if he grows up and is gay' etc. Personally I have mixed feelings, being a Jennifer I always wanted a creative or different name but there is a difference between creative and ridiculous.
Flipping through the pics amazed me, learning of how some other countries severely restrict baby names. Apparently in France one can only choose from a pre-approved list to avoid potential teasing... one extreme to another!

I still recall being teased about mine. It's not easy being named after a red dog....sheesh!  It's bad enough hearing clebreties naming their offspring bizzare names.

In some countries it is indeed true.  There is like an accepted list or some such thing, just like the registry in the article.  Really really offbeat names confuse me but a little interesting is fun.  My youngest's name in Celtic....it' different but not well, freaky by most standards (I don't think)
