I am gearing up to do a lot of local self ran chairty animal group work. Dianne's house burnt up in a electrical fire, and a lot of her animals were seriously hurt, some died.

She needs people to do fund raisers and stuff to promote animal awareness and help the group. One of my ideas was a bakesale, and a bbq potluck picknick. How well do you think a picknick where voulenteers could bring their own share of things to grill would work For 5 dollars you could have all you could eat. Could try to do games for the kids, That way food costs are kept down. I am also trying to get some sewing done. Little cat nip pillows for the cats, collar decoration scrunchies, and bow ties and things for the dogs.

In october we could try to have a pumpkin patch and other fun hallolweeny safe activities.

If you were attending a fund raising event, what kind of activities pertaining to the cause at hand would interest you?

You could look at various animal shelters in other cities and see what kind of fund raisers they do, and have a brainstorm to see what would work well with your local area demographic. Promoting the event is extremely important. Make sure you contact the local dailies and weeklies in the area far enough in advance to get at least a listing in the newspaper or an article. If you do something visual, dynamic, outside and you know you will have a good turnout, contact the local tv stations (send a one page who, what, when, where, what time, what photo op) by faxing their assignment desk a few days before then a phone call early that morning. Don't schedule the event at the same time you know there's going to be a large press conference or other competing news.

Get merchants to donate items then sell raffle tickets for a chance to win one of the prizes.

Some fun activities for kids games :

1) name the kitten (where people write down their choice of name on a slip of paper and one name gets picked)

2) pin the tail on the doggie

3) guess how many dog biscuits in a jar

4) coloring contest , pictures of animals

I will try to think up some more for adults

Best wishes for your event !
