I was courious like I tend to be and while I was bored standing in line I was watching people and how they interacted with eachother, and that got me to wondering for a Dom when out in the vanilla world dealing with hairstlyists or checkout counter girls, or waitresses do you feel the need to seperate a bit of your...Domminess or does it carry out a little into the normal day to day things? I wonder if your Dommie-senses are always on or if you can tune them off

Thanking you,

Being a Dom doesn't mean I am always out to dominate any female I come across. Dominating my slave is enough for me. I don't have much interaction with hairstylists, but as for waitresses or checkout counter girls, I just be myself. Which means I treat them as I would want to be treated.

I think most people who met and interacted with me in a vanilla situation would be a little surprised to learn what I can be like behind closed doors as I generally come across as an easy going, confident yet not forceful guy. Being Dom is something that comes out of me when I'm with someone I'm attracted to whom I know or sense has submissive tendencies. It's not something I have to turn off, it's just not there with the majority of people.

Speaking as both a waitress and a checkout counter girl, thank you, I wish there were more people like you

Just because I'm a Dom dosen't mean that I'm rude or overly dominating. I just have the normall "how do you? How's bussiness? and thanks have a nice day" chit chat leaving a tip for the waitress and the stylist. As most costumers, I come with money showing that I want quality service. If I don't get those, then I don't return to the establishment and will drop my comments in a box where it is applicable. The mannager of the bussiness is the one in charge of keeping the worker in check. There's no need for me to take off my belt and do it myself. But unfortantly I couldn't even if I wanted to unless I didn't mind having assult charges pressed against me.

I'm not a Master. I'm not a Dommie neither ;) But I don't turn on or off my dominant nature. My dominant nature manifests itself not in aggressiveness, but in assertiveness. Assertiveness is actually an ideal way to interact with all, in my opinion at least.

Just by meeting me you would really never know I was kinky let alone a switch that leans towards the dom side. I am a very nice person with people I meet in my daily travels. I am even more laid back when it comes to conversation and interaction. So I guess I can turn it off like I used to do my emotions.

That being said, I think I am very authoritarian in my views and actions while out in the vanilla world. I don't let people push me around, I snap back when a barb is thrown my way, I take no crap. If that means I am dom in public, then I guess I am a dom in public. Public and private are just in my view, two different worlds for me.

Hmmm...I don't think I ever shut my Domminess off...though my style of dominance is such that I am at all times a perfect gentleman. I say "please" and "thank you" to those who serve me for finacial gain as well as those who serve me from the depths of their desire.

Being dominant doesn't mean being an asshole, or even always getting your way, for that matter.

I never leave home without my Ronco™ Pocket Flogger and my collapsible spreader bar and a pair of handcuffs. I have gotten strange looks when I tell the checkout girl at the grocery store to "kneel before me and take my coupons." In a restaurant I once handcuffed my waitress to my table and then verbally humiliated her for not getting my food. It's hard for me to turn my Dommie senses off.

My sexuality and intimacy really only come out in sexuality and intimacy. Quotidian encounters that aren't sexual or intimate don't reflect my sexual power orientation.
