Minna-san, konnichwa! Hi everyone, Dose anyone know where I can find Japanese BDSM terms as well as some common commands? They don't teach you this in class! Doumo arigatou!

Konbonwa Sakura-san, Boku wa wakaranai. Gomenesai. I didn't learn about BDSM until after my Japanese wife and I divorced. It's unlikely she would have known either. You're only good bet will be to become passably fluent in Japanese (yes kiddies, that'll mean learning kanji too) and then frequent their websites; or possibly seek out a Japanese dominant patient and willing enough to offer some personal instruction. I find that a lot terms used in adult entertainment in Japan are English loanwords, and I imagine this carries over into BDSM. As far as good references go, the "Making Out In Japanese" series has a lot of useful sex terms, and if I remember correctly, some BDSM might have been covered. Additionally, the command forms of a lot of common verbs might be useful, such as すわって　"suwatte" (sit), 見せて　"misete" (show me, or more appropriate to the scene, present), せいざ　"seiza" (kneel), 　〇〇　を　もてきて　"______ wo mottekitte" (bring me ________), etc. (I hope the Japanese text shows up...)

皆！ありがとう。^_^　　ええ、漢字は読みやすいし、書きやすいと思います。 The reason I'm asking is because, if it wasn't obvious enough, I am a Japanese major (in progress and feel free to correct any mistakes!), I like to give my sub commands and what have you in Japanese. For my benefit, I want to make sure it's correct. NovelAproach, I figured commands would be in the て forrm;　I suppose the なさい form would be too polite?

Yeah, the て　form would most likely be appropriate in a scene, you can always add 下さい after it if you feel like being nice. The －ってるぞ　form (I think?) might even be alright if you're pissed at the sub. Just a guess though. EDIT: I browsed through the links Petronius provided, I don't think you'll find anything to help you there.

The imperative in Japanese depends on the kind of verb you wish to use. Can take the forms as you previously mentioned but in some cases you can also substitute the last letter in a verb with an e for example to use tsukau 使う use it - tsukae　使え also a go one for you would be kuru - to come　来る koi - come here 来い suware - sit　座れ kuchi wo akete　口を開けて etc Hope that helps. 勉強頑張ってね

Konbanwa, Sakura-shi. As for Japanese and BDSM, Looking at sociolects and mastering the differences between female Japanese and male Japanese may go a long way toward what is sought. Gender roles and enunciation may change in such a context. Many other nuances of language may be employed for such a purpose. For instance, distal and humble language may be more appropriate to a submissive person addressing a dominant, while proximal and imperative language may be more appropriate the other way around. Additionally, it may be the case that othering is appropriate in such a context, with the dominant party using words like "anta", and the submissive party refraining from using any form of othering at all, speaking entirely in an uchi-centric mode, or entirely in an othering mode but without self-reference. Imperatives and harsher forms are presumably useful. Should good information on this be found, it would be appreciated. Arigato gozaimashita.
