I think she had a lot of nerve trying to claim the winnings.

Look at it this way.  If it were you, would having to forfeit it teach you that stealing it was wrong?
Hard way to learn, but she will learn.

In California  you are not allowed to use a credit card to purchase lottery tickets.  Something about some law against borrowed money to profit.  Just a bit of trivia there.

Especially since she'd already spent the first payment!
Shame the card belonged to a dead person, otherwise i'd say the money should go to the rightful owner.
Goddamned identity thieves should have their hands cut off.

The money should be paid out to the owner of the credit card details I think but that'll never happen.

As the credit card owner is now dead the money should be passed onto her family.

Not only should she forfeit the money, but I'd like to see some more serious charges get brought up against her.  She lied to the State Lottery Corporation saying she was a battered spouse and used a dead woman's credit card to buy the ticket.  She deserves nothing but punishment to the fullest extent of the law.

I think she should get to keep it.

I mean with Bush, Halliburton, Blackwater, Koch, ADM, et al all cashing in on the back of rivers of blood this woman's malfeasance is small potatoes. Why should only the White House and friends make all the money?

So, she won the million dollars, the lottery agency had agreed to keep it private, she had just received $33K of it, and yet she CONTINUED to use the stolen credit card????   No, she deserves nothing, just for being that fucking stupid.

A bigger wow is winning all that money and still using someone elses credit card....... If this doesn`t teach her crime doesn`t pay then nothing will.

nope...i voted that she should have to give it back, and further more, I think she should have to pay back what she already got.  I've been trying to clean up after my identity was stolen almost 10 years ago......she needs prison time, NOT probation!  If for nothing else, for the fact that she WAS stupid enough to continue using the credit card.....does the word "DUH" mean anything?

A thought to ponder,   does anyone know for sure she used the stolen credit card to purchase the ticket?  If there is no solid proof then she should keep it.

Give the family half and let her have to other half, in an endowment fund that she has to disberse to worthy charities, never being able to personally benefit.
