I have learned that most dominants prefer subs to be completely shaved in the pubic region. The problem is, every time I shave down there I suffer from unbearable itching. Is there a way to avoid this without going through painful waxing or is there something that's safe to use down there to relieve the itching that won't make my skin break out if I accidentally nick myself without realizing it? I decided to post this in the submissive forum because since most doms like shaved subs, most subs probably shave and they might be able to offer some ideas.

Some people just can not shave their pubic area, others can, but only with a a triple or quad edge razor. Count the number of razors on your razor. More is better. There are some built in features with side bumpers that may help you not nick yourself, but it was a practice making perfect that worked for me.

i have also heard good results from a product called Magic Hair Removal. i believe it was created for men, but my best friend swears by it. (Never worked for me.)

For me this was a slight problem in the beginning. Sorta irritated and bumpy in a pimply kind of way.  If you keep shaving it every day and just tough it out, it passes and your skin and the area gets used to what youre doing to it.

Don't forget it's gone its whole life being left alone. It has to adjust to being bare and being kind of like virgin skin subject to the razor now.  It passes if you keep up with it. I have found that doing it daily or every other day is for the best and you get less stubble and itch. Until the area gets used to it, pick up a tube of itch relief lotion for common skin irritations and rub some of that in, after shaving it.

Not a sub, but a Domme who cannot, no matter what, find a way of ridding Herself of pubic hair without needing to go to hospital!! I've tried EVERYTHING, but still get rashes, bumps, blah, blah, blah,  but lots of people I know who can shave swear by using a facial exfoliant every day on the area.

To get a particularly smooth shave i use tea tree oil instead of any other shaving cream or soap.  The oil allows for a better shave and is gentle on the skin.  Not easy to find but look in the ethnic hair-care products aisle at most drug stores.

Most men like the shaved look but since i particularly like hair pulling i leave a tuft just above the clit especially for this purpose.  Haven't heard a complaint yet and it's amazing how many have never thought of this purpose.

I suggest the bikini zone gel too.  But..I might try the anti itch cream too..that sounds like a good idea.  Sometimes I get no reaction..sometimes the prickly bumps that are maddening...I have to laugh at some of the lengths we go through...Good luck..~smiles~[:)]

Waxing isn't as painful as you'd think it is.  Timing is really important--do it the week after your period. 

Also, I swear by "Skin Tend", for waxing or shaving.

Finally, make sure you are shaving in the direction of the hairgrowth, not against, and use a brand new blade each time.

Baby oil afterwards. I'm not sure where I heard about it, but it works like a charm, doesn't irritate for more than a second if I've knicked, and is cheap. And since it's safe for the skin of a baby.. Anyway, there you go -smiles-

i have been shaving for awhile and agree with all the suggestions given and i love Bikini Zone - it works[:)]
However, i have just started using an epilator because i like the results. A bit painful at first but it works well. Ofcourse it is not recommended for the "lips" which i tend to leave alone and only trim~

Cephydyl. Its safe. Its mild. No generic version. No perfumes. No dyes. One pump bottle lasts a long time. Its safe to use on babies and those 'delicate' areas. I have VERY sensative skin, my bubble bath choices are Avon {its mild} and Mr. Bubble, plus I have to use special sensative skin detergents, so I know about 'mild' when it comes to cleansers and lotions.
 
After you get out of the bath or shower, when yuor skin is still damp, put Cephydyl on on your hand and apply to the bikini area. It works like a charm. I have been using it for almost 10 years now, no problems.
 
Those who recommend Bikini Zone, it has too many preservatives and perfumes. I tried it a few years ago, and had a horrible reaction to it. It sounds liek the OP wants something gentle.

Schick Intuition Razor and exfoliate everyday you don't shave.  I shave every other day it keeps the itch down.

Nope.  I just deal with it.  This is why I prefer trimmed rather than shaved.  If a master wants me hairless and won't pay for the waxing- he'll have to deal with some redness and bumps.

If I was looking and ran across someone who seriously couldn't deal with pubic hair at all, I'd have to keep looking. Submission is important to me, but permanent 24 hour a day irritation isn't really what I'm looking for with it. It's not important to everyone, thank goodness! [:)]

I've heard hair conditioner sometimes works... but don't quote me on it.. I've never shaved that region bald... and I'm not allowed to shave it bald now...my Dom thinks that area bald looks nasty.

hair conditioner works fantastic but get something that is for damaged or color treated hair. i work in the beauty industry and i have been using the stuff for years to shave my legs and the other area. i swear by it. quantum and ion are good brands if you go to sally beauty supply  and if at wally world the herbal essences is good.

Yep, I'm with LA.  I tried all the techniques and recommendations, and gave up.  Had laser for some of the area (they can't [or shouldn't] do it all) and just trimmed the rest.  I've got a much happier cooter now...

Coochie creme, salley hansens no irritaion creme and no bumps pads. bikini zone did nothing for my senisitive skin. use only new sharp triple or more razors. good luck.

so...i very stealthily wait till wolf has gone off to work for the day, nick his beard trimmer and take care of the landscaping issues.  *grins*  oh he knows.  but then again i clean his trimmer AND his electric razor for him, so he doesnt bitch too much about it.

Sir would rather i was shaved, but its too irritating.  and when the cootchie is owwie, i dont wanna play.

One more vote for the Intuition Razor... In addition to making shaving itself easy and painless, one of the heads (it comes with the shaving soap built in) has a sensitve skin formula!

That followed by Keri and it's all soft skin.
