Are they not Gorean? Its seems to be an argument. But maybe the other Goreans just want to disassociate from them, the Kaotions are dedicated to following the very same book, after all.

How is that you find them 'creepy?' i hope you base your judgment upon more than one journalist's interpretation? That was alerted by a 'concerned' friend who may not have understood his friends lifestyle choice.

There is 'masternuha' on youtube and has chronicles of stories of his lifestyle, but i realize that is one persons interpretation, and not necessary the opinions of the others. From what i can gather from him (and i am overlooking the excessive pot smoking here) is that they are just very committed to their lifestyle, obviously cultist due to the secrecy. There does seem to be a bit of contradiction between the secrecy and wanting to be all out with their lifestyle that they can bring it out into the public however.
It seems to have a very dedicated, beautiful philosophy, however, something that entails a certain commitment and devotion from Master to slave, beyond using the slaves body as a sex toy.
Fair enough this guy is a pot head, and a little over the top in his dedication, i mean i do not hide my lifestyle choice from my family and friends, however i would not personally be lead around on a chain in public, well maybe ;) he he...

Anyway i would still like to know more, there is a certain beauty in this philosophy, even if it is dedicated to following fiction.

It is the basically the same article based upon the same information and interview with the same ppl. It does not say any more, and certainly dont see how it is 'creepy.' It just seems to me that the journalists are doing as always, giving an interpretation of something, and i dont even think that this journo has given a bad wrap, it just depends how you read it. Nilla's would be horrified, that this was going on in their neighborhood, of course, but really what is the difference in the Domination value of Kaotian taking his partner to the butchers on a chain, that the little old couple around the corner still living out their 1950's live in 2007? i would imagine that the Kaotian slave would be happier than little old Nancy, dont see her smiling much ;)

It isn't the butcher's chain,

It's the cultish/commune style of living that, to me, signals a shift from the source material (Norman's work) to cult/power dynamics.  I believe one of the most important principles of Gor to be regard for and active participation within one's society.  The Kaotians, on the other hand, seem to be trying to create their own anti-society, within the society.  I believe the Davidians and the Heaven's Gate folk tend to take a similar view.  Maybe I'm just squicky about cults, though.

Well if i am not getting all peace, love and mungbeans here... "There are many colors in a rainbow." Somehow i can appreciate them all, yet i am not much into wearing pink or orange.
Communal and cultism are not strangers to me, but these days i am adverse to having constant drama, and interaction, i appreciate my space too much.
i still find it all somewhat intriguing though, but due to the cultist and secrecy there would be most likely only one way of finding out what it is all about, except for youtube of course.

I'd say the real trouble is finding anything authentic on the subject.

Are the Kaotians in the news 'real' Kaotians?  How do you find them?  What allows one to call themselves Kaotians?

Honestly, I haven't had much luck finding any information about them other than what I've already posted.  What I did find, told me I probably wouldn't want to.  If it floats your boat, though, go for it.

Stephan

The view from youtube feels safer, but you are right, may not be a correct opinion of all Kaotians.
i am happy with the Dominant figure i have anyways.
