imtempting -> Anyone else feel the same? (7/3/2005 7:49:28 PM)

I read alot of profiles, both male and female. One thing I noticed on alot of profiles weather Dominant or Submissive is they state.

"I feel the opposite sex is the Surpeme ruler and they have always been the greatest gender of the human species".

I don't want to submit to females because I think they are greater. I want to submit because I like serving people and in most other parts of my life I am in control and always get what I want. Males and Females can both do different things better then the opposite sex but it does not mean they are better.

Are there other people that feel the same?

Replies on this topic will be interesting.

dominmd -> RE: Anyone else feel the same? (7/3/2005 7:59:07 PM)

Yes I feel the same as you. I feel that I am not a Master because I still have a lot to learn. And by actually submitting, I will learn more and become a better Dom.

I believe that either sex has positive traits and negative traits. Neither are superior. Some women feel superior because women (females of every species) bring life into this world, and they outnumber us fellas 2-1. Whereas the guys control everything in many different species, and we as human males were and still are the hunters, and fighters and do the heavy labor of life. Therefore many men feel superior.

To me, if a woman is intelligent, has common sense, and can freely express herself intellectually, emotionally and sexually, then she is my equal even if she is my sub. I have respect for this sort of woman, and I would hope she would have the same respect for me.

FuriousAngel -> RE: Anyone else feel the same? (7/3/2005 8:21:35 PM)

I don't believe that one gender is superior to another nor have I ever been able to wrap my head around where people get the concept from to begin with. Then again, I've never really tried to figure it out. But no, even as a submissive, I don't view men as superior.

sub4hire -> RE: Anyone else feel the same? (7/3/2005 9:27:58 PM)

I haven't read profiles for a very long time. Back when I did, I don't think they were worded that way.
Perhaps people are more enlightened by chat rooms nowadays? Back when I was searching we had bondage.com and cuffs was just starting.
Now there is a pleuthora of sites out there to choose from. Finding a chat room is as easy as it comes.

Anyway, I've been with my dom now 6.5 years. I don't submit to him because I feel he is superior. I submit to him because he took the time to earn my respect and love.

When people use the word serving I generally don't respond because, I really don't know if I like to serve. Yes, I do serve and quite well. Though I do because I feel it is my job. I'm not real sure if I truly enjoy it or not. Or if it is more than just making him happy.

junecleaver -> RE: Anyone else feel the same? (7/3/2005 9:34:31 PM)

I see that mentality....mainly in a dynamic involving female domination/male submission. I guess it makes them feel smaller and more helpless.

I don't agree, but whatever works, works.

zaynab -> RE: Anyone else feel the same? (7/3/2005 9:42:55 PM)

i dont feel that either sex is a supreme ruler or whatever....
so it's true that the right side of a man's brain does not fully function and a woman's total brain is functioning.... but men have their good points too....

so i wont hold the left brain thing against them...... lol

MistressFire70 -> RE: Anyone else feel the same? (7/3/2005 10:29:32 PM)

Not all of us feel this way. I never had Female Supremacy checked on my profile and since I put my little rant about it in my journal, the messages I get went WAY down. Nice to not have to shuffle through them anyway, as I would just ask them about FS and then realize they aren't match.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Anyone else feel the same? (7/4/2005 12:17:12 AM)

There was a long female-supremacy thread a couple of weeks ago. It hit a few acrimonious points, but generally the discussion was interesting.

(And please don't fucking tell me that we like to rehash topics on here. I'm saying this so the OP can find the damn thread.)

Edited to add: This is not in response to MistressFire70. It's just in response to the thread in general. I still can't figure out how to respond to a thread without having the name of the last person who posted appear automatically in the lower right-hand corner.

To respond to someone specifically just click on the reply button on their posting.

hope that helps

I said I was responding to the thread in general.

EmeraldSlave2 -> RE: Anyone else feel the same? (7/4/2005 5:58:24 AM)

First off, the answer to any question which begins "Does anyone else feel or do X?" is always Yes.

So, yes there are a fair number of gender supremacists around.

More common are submissives who want a dominant who is superior to him or her, stronger, older, smarter, etc, but who don't necessarily believe that gender causes supremacy or that all dominants are superior.

Gender based discrimination is just that, discrimination.

Most of the Dommes that I know are not into Female Supremacy. The ones that I am aware of that are don't consider themselves to be supreme over all men. They do however want to be supreme as the Woman in their relationship with the men that are sub/slave to them.

Exactly Em. More often then not, I encounter male subs that believe in Female Supremacy for what I believe are the very reasons that you stated. I actually refuse to engage with a boy who does. I don't want to be up on a pedestal based on my gender.

Lepidoptera -> RE: Anyone else feel the same? (7/4/2005 10:46:29 PM)

As a feminist, this was a big problem for me in my early days of BDSM self discovery-

But what I believe is not that women are inferior to men, but that I am inferior to some people. Considering that there will always be someone better than you, that isn't so hard to understand, even in a vanilla context.

I think that it can be fun to play with gender roles, just as some people play with race- but do I actually believe that such things as inferiority of either sex or any race are true?

No. It's play, not real.

strikingamatch -> RE: Anyone else feel the same? (7/5/2005 2:59:09 AM)

I suppose I will get flamed, but here goes anyway...

(The following is a generalisation, and of course there are exceptions.)

When discussing the differences between gender, than "superior" might not be the right word. Superior in which way? Morally? Financially? Intrinsically? (What does intrinsically superior mean anyway?) However, there are profound differences between men and women.

I believe males in general are stronger than females. Stronger physically (obvious), mentally (how many female winners of the Nobel prize are there?) and emotionally (better able to handle stress and challenges). Many claim that some of these differences are due to nurture, I do not agree. There is no way that nature can be consistently denied for thousands of years. Women have almost always occupied an inferior position in society. Even in the western world today after a century of feminism (beinning with the suffragettes) women still get paid less than men for equal work.

I believe that women who are in touch with themselves and are aware of their limitations seek out stronger men for security and support. I further believe that men who are aware of their gifts, wish to utilise those gifts and give of themselves to those who need them. That is to my mind a fundamental part of the d/s dynamic.

I further believe that denial of the above, is catastrophic for women. If you face off a man and woman against each other the woman will almost always lose. By denying female vulnerability we also deny them the protection they deserve.

mentally (how many female winners of the Nobel prize are there?)

Is that due to some inherent quality in males and females, or the fact that females have, for generations in society, been unable and unencouraged to pursue those academic interests?

You're going to have to back that statement up. How do you see this as true?

Wait, are you saying that the reason women get paid less is because males are superior for the jobs?

You obviously have no conception of homosexuality or bisexual in Ds then, or the female dom/male sub component.

Face off in what sense? Obviously, I disagree with your view of male supremacy.

Good rebuttal Em.

Now I get an idea why his handle is strikingamatch. Isn't that one of the techniques used when you want to cover up a foul toilet odour?

I do not consider myself inferior to my Mistress, nor does She consider me at all inferior. I think perhaps it is that mindset that leaves some Big Letter People thinking that all little letter people should treat them in some special way, and some little letter folks who feel the same.

In my relationship, we are of equal value. We each made a conscious decision to satisfy our core needs with each other, mine to ensure approval/acceptance within my romantic relationship by ceding all power within same, Her to have that power.

But we are otherwise "equal partners." She just is the Boss. ::grin::
