This is really oriented towards the people who have multiple belief structures listed in their profile checklists. Especially the ones that DON'T involve Christianity, Judaism, Islam or Buddhism... So what would you say is the best description of your beliefs? I realize that it's an imprecise instrument, but that's what the response section's for... ;)

i worship the Goddess. i consider myself Pagan/ Wiccan. my rituals are based on need and the Sabbaths.

I was raised Catholic and am doing the same with my daughter. I am not a practicing one though. I believe in prayer and a greater being, I just don't think I need to go to church every week and kneel for Him/Her to hear me. I will be very interested to see where this thread goes.

i was baptized Catholic , raised pentecostal. neither seemed to fit. one day playing hooky from middle school i was in the library (yes i cut school to go the library), i found Diary of a Witch by Sybil Leeks .suddenly things made sense . My children have been told about different religions and chosen their own paths. two are Pagans one is Catholic. we all get along. Master is Catholic. Religion is never an issue in my family or with Master.

Born and raised a protestant...I stopped practicing in college basically because I stopped seeing a need for organized religion. I go to church every once in a while. I think the lessons are still relevant even if I don't feel like I need to be in the building.

wow. um. Ok...ready for this? I grew up knowing nothing about religion. My mother shielded us from my Catholic grandparents because she didn't want us influenced. In doing so we were shielded from everything. I didn't even know Christmas had to do with Christ til I was in college. I "wandered" so to speak my entire life, til I met my husband who follows Native American, earth based traditions. I realized I could get on board with that because I didn't have to pray to "God" or anything. I could just give thanks and ask of the earth. *I'm terrible at explaining this...it's still so new to me, but it makes sense more so than anything else* I do not consider myself religious but I support my husband fully in his spirituality and try to find my own way.

My father is a United Methodist Minister. I kinda always thought that his teachings we about the same as all "christian" denominations, until I got older and visited a lot of other churches. I despise the "Scare tactics" that most christians use, so I try to stay away from organized religion anymore. If I do go to church for any reason, we go to the local Episcopalian church. I love the local pastor there, he's great. I hate our local Methodist church, even though thats what I am most familiar with. There was a childrens sunday once, where instead of having ALL the kids go up and sing, they only let the kids who could actually sing well get up there, I never went back. Sir is somewhere between Native American teachings and wiccan. Lemme tell ya, I don;t know about religion, but a sweat lodge is the best way I know of to lose weight! ghita~

Ohhhh I really enjoy going to the sweats! I've not been in one in so long with the two year old at bay. My husband runs lodges all the time. We are going to build our own in the back yard hopefully either late fall or spring! I really enjoy my husband's spirituality. I'm just not sure I understand it any better than I do any other (though his makes me feel comfy...which others never did)

Native spirituality is quite interesting and is quite powerful from my experiences! Had recieved a couple eagle feathers a few years ago, but yet to fast for them. Don't believe I will as I find the Eagle medicene is a bit more responsibility that I'm fearful of and is quite powerful! I'll stick with working with elemental energies grin

Oi! Take the tarot reading off-thread, will ya! I should explain: I'm an odd duck - if asked, I'm a long-time Thelemite who generally ignores AC and his followers except in application (well, I still wear a ring that has VDSA inscribed...). This means that I've had exposure to quite a few things, but I then distill it down to What Works on an empirical basis. Which means that these days I find myself leaning heavily toward Hellenic/Coptic theology, but I stuff say I'm a Thelemite... And I get on here and so much of the profiles have "Wicca"... which is like saying that a Methodist, a Christian Scientist, a Jehovah's Witness and a Catholic are all "Christian." Just an informal clarification.
