Have you ever "discovered" that you had a fetish for something you never knew about, or introduced someone to a fetish that was latent in them? For example, I knew that some folks had fetishes for women in pantyhose, but I never thought it was my thing. I always thought that the stocking & garter look, or bare legs, were sexier and more attractive. I'm one of those funny people who define fetish as something necessary to become aroused. Since all I need in my imagination....well...I guess my mind is a fetish? I do love rope though....I consider myself a fiend not a fetishist about rope. S I had a dominant who was much like you about the pantyhose thing...not thigh highs, not open crotch...the real deal. Earthycouple, No need to get defensive. You gave your opinion. I gave mine. There was no attack or criticism, merely a differing opinion. And no, I didn't respond directly to the OP, because I can't truthfully write about an experience I haven't had.

Well, i know we're talking opinions here and it has nothing to do with the OP, but "fetish" clinically means something necessary to achieve arousal-its a bit of a crutch, an obsession. Colloquially though, I believe its pretty much taken to mean "something I like more then most people do that gets me aroused" or somesuch similar. I've definately turned some people onto hypnosis.

Breath play was like that for me. I never had any interest in it. It seemed way too edgy and just ... not necessary. It wasn't even on my radar. Ok-- Hate it when the dictionary takes over. I'll accept the friendly amendment and substitute the word "kink" for fetish. But, since we're on the topic, isn't there always something that is necessary for arousal, even if it's something fairly vanilla, like the sight of exposed skin, a pair of ruby red lips, a sultry voice, etc? And I assume it is possible to have multiple fetishes, such that there are a number of triggers for arousal? Regards, ATP

The art of female domination is to introduce new things in order to gain control.
