First things first, your moniker makes me think you're just "jack-in" people aound here, but that's just an observation, not a judgement. Secondly, yes, i've had such an experience in the past. The cat scratch is a given, they all do it to you at some point, for whatever reason. Might want to avoid having the cat around your face though, you could have lost an eye. The experience i had occurred as i retired for the night, immediately after laying in bed, still fully awake with no background noise whatsoever in the room. i was completely sober, no drink, no drugs, and was not overly tired or exhausted, and there was no one else in the house. At the moment i closed my eyes, a deep whispering voice clearly called out my name, causing me to spring up in bed with shivers running through my body. It was an unnerving next few minutes, as i knew i had not fallen asleep, and had distinctly heard the voice, though no one else was there. i recall getting up, switching on the lights, searching the room, even the closet, then walking through the entire house room by room, until i was satisfied no one else was present. Honestly, it freaked me out and it took quite a while of convincing myself i was simply hearing things in order to fall asleep. Thought about it for a few days, and will admit to "listening" when i went to bed to see if it re-occurred, never did. This was many, many years ago, and i am not one whom dwells on the paranormal by any means, but even now when i hear a bump in the night, the memory quickly returns. Happened once, never to return except in recall, but it did happen, of this i am sure. i heard a voice call me by name that night, who or what, i will never know. So, that's it, my experience for what it is worth, all the woo~oo~oo aside. Cats will scratch you, a voice might call you, but if you're looking at the cat, and it actually starts talking to you, run like hell! chia* (the pet)
