Why is everybody afraid of spiders? Spiders eat mosquito's, white flies, bean beetles and all other sorts of bugs that destroy your garden, not to mention bite you. I like spiders. Next to a praying mantis, spiders are one of a gardeners best friends.
when i was 4, and spending the night at my granny's house, i had a normal (for me) episode of sleepwalking.
i woke up in the hallway, eyeball to eyeballs with a garden spider. one with a legspan of about 5 inches side to side. i've been hysterically frightened ever since. the large woods spiders here in florida arent helping matters either.
kitten, whose household males are trained to run and destroy when she starts screaming about 8-legged assasins....
(this applies to only ones in the house. there is a truce. they stay outside and off the walkways, and i dont bother them. inside, they have a death wish.)
