Whats the difference between a Brat and a Switch? Seems both want some form of control.

When a switch wants control, they want to be the dominant. When a brat wants control, they still want to be the 'submissive'

mornig Dnomyar Sir.. :-) nice to see You ! in my thinking a Brat ! is someone who is more a handful and spirited person who is seeking attention... where a switch is one who is able to be a bottom as well as a top... in the bdsm situation... a brat is more a personality trait.. rather than the action of switching.

Hello loverly nice to see you also. Isnt being a brat a form of switching roles also. Abeit not a way of total switching but still the same leaving the submissive role.

The way i understand it a switch is one who has both dominate and submissive personality traits and enjoys both while a brat is one who pitches fits to get their way and needs to seriously grow up but then that is just this old slaves 2 cents worth.

switch and brat are two entirely different things, op.

when i'm a brat, i tend to be manipulative and deceptive in getting things done my way.

Sorry guys, my internet was down this morning :)

Switch- someone with both dominant and submissive orientations

Brat- submissive who manipulates and acts inappropriately in order to get attention

Now, technically, a vanilla or dominant or switch could ALSO be a brat, but that's not how it's actually used 99% of the time.

The terms are completely unrelated.

I brat, I don't switch. I don't want control. I brat mainly when I'm feeling confident. It's a mechanism of interaction that allows me to tease him, show him where my mood is at, make silly puns, and hopefully get wrestled down, tickled and played with for a bit.

Because I have some mood disorder issues, I am not always able to handle this level of interaction. Bratting allows me to indicate when I am feeling able to take teasing without asking directly and risking rejection. It works for us.

I do switch on occassion as i enjoy Topping for time to time. Though mostly identify as slave. I only Top whn my dominant Partners allow this. Which isn't very often.

Brat.. i used to be alot more bratty. When the relationship with Master Hawk was new, and he encouraged me to let my inner child out, my inner brat came out. But over time she has stopped coming out so often. I have learned one can let their inner child out to play, without being bratty, snotty, sarcastic or manipulative or pouty. No one likes an ill behaved child. So i have learned that a well behaved child gets more attention and rewards. :)
