I stated my opinions, you have yours.

Instead of turning this into the potential pissing contest that it could become, I will just say that your point is taken and leave it at that.

I'm not averse to any pissing contest but it's never gonna happen if all you're gonna do is earn some respect by being mature about this! Damn.... lol

Right. She has written two posts and has been on the site for a little over a month--and already she's turned off by "all" the fakes. And you're all for cutting her a little slack?

I haven't had the geek mail her and most women get on "adult" sites so I'm not nearly so judemental or demanding of newbies....

So, to give your question the response it deserves: Duhhh!

Well, as a woman, and a person who gets shitloads of mail all the time(geez - aint I popular?) and with 90 % being negative mail (I prefere not to use the word geek as I tend to have a soft spot for them - and by no way would a 'twue and weal' geek would send an nasty or bad mail) - I think a word that every woman (and call me generalist - but I think you may get my point) should learn is -

patience.

Peace and Love

Domma sisters, feel to write me, we can exchage stories.

...now I will get my positive attitude back again, this negative mood I leave with this letter.

So was this a rant and run-away?

Good luck on finding a "beautiful positive relationship where you and your partner truly care for each other."

It can be done, but you've got to do your part, too.

The act of searching for whatever one may be looking for is sometimes a long and arduous journey. Is it any wonder why someone could be so frustrated as to use a forum such as this to vent a little, whether the rest of us agree with the post or not? There are days that I want to scream and pull my hair (okay, I actually like my hair pulled lol) because of some emails I receive. I can understand the OP's motivation even though I don't agree with some of her points. I think we as mature adults should respond as such, with no belittling or whatnot even if you found her post to be that. Just because one might speak in that manner doesn't mean that we as mature adults have to respond like that.

The next point I want to cover is if you should give any leeway to newbies of this site. I myself am a newbie to this site but not to the lifestyle. I'm aware of certain rules of etiquette on a site like this, but some are not. Maybe a little tolerance to newbies should be given. There are ways of telling her she might have gotten things a little mixed up without being so cruel. However, if I had made such a bad error in judgement and posted that same post, I would be able to read everything that has been said and still feel cabable of posting again. I might in the future write the post, email it to myself, let it sit there for a day or two, reread it, and then decide if I felt it was the best way to communicate my opinions. I am not her though, and she is not me. She will do things differently. I will agree or disagree. What I won't do is make fun of her.

With that said, anyone feeling offended by my post is more than free to tear it to shreds. For I am not one who will bother to be upset by strangers' comments on a screen.

I think you nailed it on the head just with this statement. Don't be effected by it.

I know it may look like some people may seem heartless - but to understand how people feel is to step inside of the box as well as outside.

There are people who are destroyed by so called 'blacklists' - just because someone thinks they are 'fake'.

There are numerous - not just a few - but a huge amount of posts that 'moan' about the fakes and wannabees - it just tires alot of people seeing such valuble webspace taken up by the same posts when all it takes is a quick search to see if it has been mentioned before.

You should be responsible for yourself - not reliant on others for a popularity contest.

To some people - who is interested in a moaning dominant - positive is always good.

give and take - and don't take everything personally

Peace and Love

Just my take on this, and that is all this is....I have only been on site since March...before I posted for the first time, I had read the boards quite a bit, and even had read enough to recognize some of the regulars names..I also, within my fist week, had over 200 emails, and most of them "geek mail" as you put it. However, I never thought, even as a new member, that must be the norm for members (to be timewasters and phonies), because I DID read the boards, and knew, like real life, there are good and bad on site, in part evidenced by the posts, and also knew, like real life, moaning and whining was not the way to get my point across.

ah..beware of sending a list of nicks of people you do not want to be able to connect with anyone else, on the grounds that they displeased you in some way. That is contrary to the spirit of CM and may be violative of the CM TOS. If you get caught, some Mod may decide you are not right for our little community and kick you out.

i note that you admit to being at least 40 years old. You claim you have a career. i find it a bit amazing then that you are so bowled over by an annoying email that you felt compelled to come here and post within the month of joining us. Criminey, woman, use your skill set and deal with annoying people in a gracious but firm way. As for determining who is faking, well, if this is your first time searching by net, you might ask some of the Dommes for help. But i would acquire some manners and a bit of humility before approaching them. Just my two cents.

(And yes, i have posted about annoying email myself -- specifically about why men do not read my profile before emailing me and whether i could re-write it to make it more readable -- so i guess this makes me a bit hypocritical.)

Perhaps we're not talking about the same "geeks" here....? lol

My use of "geek mail" is shortened from HNG (horny net geek) as it 'rolls off my tongue' more smoothly than HNG mail.... It feels like your geeks are the more harmless general computer types. Maybe I should try "troll mail".... Or is it that you actually like "toying" with the trolls? lol

I'm curious as to why you say every woman should learn patience (re troll mail?).... It dies down over time?

The thing that yousta annoy me is that some subs would get so much troll mail that they'd start bracketing all male mail as the same and not even bother reading their mail. But I did have one lovely sub reply over a month after I wrote to her - which worked out quite well. It also taught me not to get discouraged when a fem/sub doesn't reply to a first or even second inquiry. So "patience" works for men, too!
