I'd say you were pretty fortunate, and also an ingrate.  Come on! You're getting what most of are pining for day after day and you're complaining [;)] ?

Haha True kittinsol!!..But as a newbie i have to be honest and say i would'nt want my first encounter with a Domme to be a full on thrashing yno[:(]! Maybe if i got the same message this time next year i would have been intrigued!

I agree johnny, that's not the most appropriate way to approach a newbie. Fortunately you've the brains to see that ... so being on the forums has already shown Dommes something good about you! Fact is, there are a lot of good people here but there are also some flakes on both the D and s side of the group. I second the idea of hanging more on the forum side to help get known. On the personals, yes, read someone's profile very carefully and then write a few sentences at least as introduction showing you've read it. Then don't feel too personally hurt if you don't always get the type of reply you hope for, odds are that you won't every time ... but for the odd gem that shows up, sifting through the others can be worth it!

Good luck

MaamJay thanks for the advice.I'll just stick with posting on the message forums for now and maybe even venture into a chat room.Im sure You've met a hell of alot of timewasters on the D and s side as im sure i will too.I could have replied to that message and said " yea i can take a thrashing lets meet up" but what would be the point im sure a genuine Domme would know how to approach a newbie...and that for me is'nt the way to take a newbie like me under their wing,so to speak! I shall keep on truckin...and like you said the odd gem may show up now and again.I think its that little bit tougher for me because there is not many Dommes in Ireland who are members on this site.Although the scene seems to be getting more and more popular over here which is obviously a good thing.Although if its one thing i have in abundance its patience!

Look johnny, there is one sure fire way to make friends on this site. Stay on the forums and off the personals section. At least on this side, you know that people will write something to you. Even if it is to say your an ass. [;)]

Why Mr.Discipline44....what a pleasent response! I didnt know you had it in you LOL [;)]
and i couldnt agree with you more.

Im finding it near impossible to make friends on this site.  Would anyone have any words of wisdom or advice to help me get settled into this site!? I messaged some Dommes and subs to talk and make friends, learn from them etc but never seem to get replies and i do send a picture too...hmm..maybe im not a looker like i thought! Anyways any help/advice would be appreciated!

I don't know where I heard this, but this is something I live by:  "Make yourself at home - because no one else will."

Assert yourself and make yourself known in the forums. Chances are you'll strike up a conversation with someone, it leads to others, you get to talking, BOOM!  Friends.

Feel free to message me and say hello. I'm here to make friends as well, and you're right - it CAN be hard. But, join in the conversations here in the forums, message those that seem friendly, and see what happens. Anyone who'd like to make friends can message me if you'd like to.
