Why is it in California of all places, when I go on dates with me and I let them know I am bi they freak out,,, but with women out here they are totally cool with it. *for the most part*

Are you going out with gay men? straight men? Other bi men? Unless a man is bi or gay they find the idea of a man with a man utterly repulsive, it is just not something they can comprehend. Now some females find the idea of a man with a man a turn on, even have fantasies about it(I do, heh). Though sometimes its the whole fantasy verse reality there. They like the thought but don't want to acutally see it live and in person. Especially not with their SO.
