My regrets for your predicament. Hopefully you're a quick study and can learn how to measure and install your wondows in a flash. Otherwise, you'll have to resort to the currency method of concealment to keep those pesky wondows out of the code guy's site.

Best of luck to ya this fine morn'...

Why don't you know if they will fit?

Most home improvement stores will come out and measure for you.  Free at that.
Let you know the correct size to order....and then even give you someone to hire to put
them in.

Windows are cheap anymore.  Unless of course you want wood.

pahunkboy -> RE: POST UR REGRETS HERE (8/17/2007 7:24:45 AM)

these are bargain bin windows- ui am tightwad of the centry. if a few fit it will be ok- i guess.

windows are @ $200 a peice. i have 28 olf them!   that would be $4800 to redo them.

being that i live in a modest area- real estate doesnt bring in big =cash.   windows wih no view im going smaller- about 1/2 the size. anyhow- instad of bitching i should be measuring.... LOL

Yep, Defnataly measuring and you can get windows cheaper than 200 a piece.  The home we moved from in California we had the windows replaced.  The entire house cost us 2 grand...and that was removing the sliding glass door and putting in two new custom made french doors.
Double paned, e-glass...etc..etc.

i thinl some will fit. i need to see if i need a permit. then i might have a worker from Watsontown that can install.

notice i havnt done my kitchen yet?   one can put 40k into a kitchen w/o blinking.

sub4hire -> RE: POST UR REGRETS HERE (8/17/2007 10:16:05 AM)

No permits needed for windows...at least I haven't come across that law yet.
We have a 3 season patio here I'm going to gut when  I have time.  Switch out the windows and insulate
the walls...turn it into a 4 season patio.

2 kitchens in the last 12 month's.  I know very well how much they cost...and that wasn't even custom like the one in this house will be someday.  Luckily I have a cousin who is a cabinet maker.  Living only a 8 hour drive from him now, eventually we will lure him up here to measure.

im mailing my brother a copy of the invoice.  so he can see what i have. specifically. like you say- it is hard to get contractors to show up.  thats my situation here. i asked the neighbor for leads. i might have one of my own.  at the moment i dont think it was wasted money- -- i have to keep on track.  this will never be a 300k house.   and i dont want to sink endless $ into it. i replaced thew door bella nd the adresss- aot of bang for the $20 that cost.  it looks nice.

it is too humid today. we are having a laser show tonight as part of "river fest" .. hmmm
