Actually, I think what they call it may vary.  Around here (southeastern VA) a bikini wax leaves the "landing strip" and a Brazillian takes it all off.

And I have to second calling around.  I found a wonderful spa here that does it, fairly inexpensively, very thoroughly...and they are very professional, so as to not make you feel that you are a sexual creature, even while they wax your most intimate parts.  Also, if you intend to do it repeatedly (as it is true that the hair that grows back is much downier and becomes successively thinner) you can sometimes get "multi-purchase discounts" (where you agree to purchase so many waxes up front and use them throughout the year).

Aussie 3 minute miracle is good for general conditioning if you are dead set against shaving or waxing however, and I've found that using conditioner as a shaving cream and a facial toner (like witch-hazel) on the external parts, will help cut down on the shaving bumps, as more often than not they are caused by surface bacteria that get into the hair follicles.

I too, have freakishly sensitive skin so I don't shave everyday.

A small tip: if using an electric trimmer, trim in the direction of the hair growth - causes less irritation

Also, I use Olay's in-shower body lotion (the age defying kind, or course *s*) and that just makes everything soft and silky as told to me awe one time by a 'friend' *giggles*

Good luck!

xo

I find that the key to shaving and not getting bumps is to shave really well every other day. Make sure that your blades don't get dull. After shaving, just a drop of Frizz Ease hair serum massaged into your skin seems to keep the itchy bumps away. I almost never get an ingrown hair or itchy bumps.....just nice and smooth as a baby's butt.[:)]

I thought I'd add my two cents in.

Use Victoria's secret spa moisturizing After shave lotion.

Even if you don't shave. It IS after shave cream but it works fantastic for softening up the air as well!

You can purchase it for about ten bucks. So...not incredibly expensive and I swear by the stuff.

I sent R a copy of my epi-saga. He laughed at me [&:] lol then said he was going to shave me.
Oooooh boy this is a lil long time fantasy of mine about to be fulfilled.

Thankies to everyone for the tips and tricks and to the one who feels so guilty about my bruising and bloodshed please please don't feel that way okies? *hugs*

If you can handle the pain, you could try plucking... it doesn't (or doesn't have to) hurt that bad

OMG, crossing legs, wincing, and calling for her mommy!

Me thinks all the pain sluts who have not done this are rushing to the bathroom to get tweezers and begin plucking to their hearts content!  Shakes head at "it doesnt (or doesn't have to) hurt that bad".

Mane and Tail are great, and we used it on our horses which made their mane's and tail's very soft.   It's cheap too!

Dear Goddess, legs still firmly closed and praying a Mistress never has a plucking fetish with me.

Actually..I did just try plucking "down there" earlier this week...it really didnt hurt that bad at all...but damn it just takes way too freaking long! It takes me 20 minutes just to pluck my eyebrows, all that hair down there Id have been plucking for days, I finally gave in and shaved again...so...more bumps again...sigh. I hate being all itchy n stuff, people are gonna think ive gut buggies or something.

Soooooo yesterday I invested $80.00 in a Panasonic Epilator. The fancy one with the carrying case and all. Can be used wet or dry! Attachments! Rechargable for those hair removal frenzies!

With anticipation and hope I sat crosslegged on my bed and proceeded to fill the next 20 minutes with a struggle against over-packaging. It took 2 pair of scissors and 1 screwdriver.

Shiny. Pretty! A lovely rose colored impliment that fit oh so cozily in the palm of my hand. Lovely except for the slightly intimidating epilator head.. wires and unknown bits that appear sharp. But hey, it is a hair removal thingie so it has to have sharp metallic bits right? Right?

I extend my left leg in its furry glory and study the hair growth. I read the booklet that came with my soon to be newest happiest hair removal system GO ME! I turn it on and admire the buzzy sound (much louder than my fav vibe dontchya know).

A deep breath and steady hand now as I bring the shiny prong thingies closer and closer. I know it is going to pull, probably sting quite a bit but I am tuff. Tuff. TUFF!

One brief touch against my lower leg and I scream so damned loud I scare my dog.
Blood. Holy moly the blood!!! 8 beads of blood pop up then slide down my leg.
The hair
did
not
budge.

Now I have a bruise the size of my palm and a double row of scabs.

Anyone wanna buy a very very slightly used epilator? That thing will never ever get near my precious nether regions!

Laughing out loud and wiping the tears away!

I can only imagine this being used as a promise for punishment by those mean Dommies.

I didnt mind the pain honestly..not all that erotic, but manageable pain...now if Sir was to pluck for me, might get a bit erotic...but I digress..

None of us smoke, and even if I did have ash, why would I dip my fingers in it? I pluck with tweezers, not my fingers, hair wasnt abut about 1/8" long if even that, I never go that long without shaving..I didnt have any problem getting a grip on the hair, just took forever ripping them all out one by one...thats alot of little hairs

TakenPet -> RE: Another pubic hair question (8/29/2007 10:21:31 PM)

I like the idea of doing it yourself.  I am trying to find a more permanent way of getting rid of the hair, shaving always seems to give me a reaction.  I should try waxing.
Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions and you really shouldn't be embarassed to ask us anything.  We have all at some point been where you are. Enjoy your time.

ocilla -> RE: Another pubic hair question (8/30/2007 7:49:39 AM)

Lazer hair removal. Expensive but my understanding is that it is permanent

glanstat -> RE: Another pubic hair question (8/30/2007 8:43:07 PM)

Lazer is not permanent for most folks.  Electrolysis is permanent.

Have had ten sessions with lazer, still coming back, after 10-12 sessions with electrolysis smooth as babies butt.

Probably will have to have a few cleanup sessions every six month or so for awhile.

Nice not to have to shave cock and balls.

SubJordanTyler -> RE: Another pubic hair question (9/1/2007 7:54:33 AM)

I did just find the most amazing shave cream the other day - it's called Shave the Day from Bath and Body Works.  Never have I been able to shave so well and smooth with my sensitive skin.  I still put a lotion on after, but if you aren't as sensitive as I am, you might not even need it.  It has shea butter in it, so I'm guessing that makes it so soft and smooth.  My legs look even better now!!  It might be worth a try.
